When you ask him why he specifically used that piece of armor to repair himself he dodges your question.

So..

Stalker?
ME3 Love interest?

In all seriousness though, it's not one of those things that Bioware should let slide for ME3.

I really think that ensures his return for ME3. The fact that there's so much more about him that he's either unwilling to discuss, or you just haven't learned yet means he'll have to come back. Either that or he's one of the most shallow characters in any Bioware game. There's just too much untapped potential for him to not come back.

Or...we'll see DLC that delves further into his character.

Personally, I think he worships Shepard as something of a saviour/God for being the only person to ever successfully fight a Reaper.

I don't think he's shallow at all. I actually quite like the open ended moment when Shep confronts him about the plate. But if they don't follow through on it I'll be disappointed.

I meant that if they didn't include him at all in ME3, it would make him a shallow character, because there's so much left unsaid, and getting him so late in the game...too much untapped potential in Legion.

He's my favorite new character in ME2.

I wonder why he hasn't bothered to repair that gaping hole in his chest.

Haha, ME3 LI, that was a good one.

Anyways, it seems that a portion of its appearance was cut. Hance the lack of explanation for the N7 stuff. He was supposed to talk you on some missions, but it never made its way to the final game.

I think Legion may admire Shepard, possibly even wants to be like him/her. He actually sounds embarrassed when asked about the armor, something I didn't think Geth could sound like.

Or smitten. Like a stalker.

Maybe the cut sequences and dialogue were unfinished by release and will make their way into a DLC pack or two. At the very least I hope they will. Bioware's history with cut content depresses me.

I think that's it. I think the real Geth admired Shepard for taking out Sovereign. I think there's more to it than that, some specific quality involving what Shepard did in that mission that they admired. I REALLY hope this is explored in DLC or ME3.

The Geth/Legion admire Shepard. It becomes quite clear that when you do Legions loyatly quest that the Geth admire/respect him so much that they are willing to let Shepard decide the fate of the heretic geth.

They let their future be decided by Shepard.

I have to say, I hope Legion is available for recruitment in ME3, more so than any other character. You get him so late in the game that there is hardly any development.

When asked otherwise, a lot of the respect comes from the fact they consider Shepard to have committed to them essentially Deicide. (Why me, Why am I different to the others who fought Sovereign? You killed their God)

Legion was the first character revealed in ME2 and the last character to make an appearance... how sad :(

He definitely has a crush on Shep :P

The answer is so obvious. It's practically given to you on a silver platter. Legion is a Geth, a robot, he used the armor to patch himself up because he had a hole in his chest.

Prior to this theres a conversation option that leads to Legion saying they leaked some data on the extranet that a cluster of stars was in the shape of an asari goddess. Without any verification people claimed this was proof of her existence and killed those who said otherwise, only to find out later that it was all a hoax.

Despite EVERYTHING pointing to Legion as nothing more than a Geth, an unfeeling, unemotional robot, a simple pause before "No data available" and suddenly people hear emotional inflections in his tone and jump to wild theories as to how he must REALLY feel.

The simplest answer is generally correct. He's a robot, he had a hole in his chest, he used a piece of n7 armor to patch it. With no information as to when the injury occurred its much more likely that he got the injury while in the vicinity of the n7 armor and it was a convenient piece to patch himself up, rather than he has a crush/special-super-duper-feelings-just-for-YOU.

Except it's not that simple. He was damaged on Eden Prime, which is the first place he went after you destroyed Sovreign. From there he pretty much followed whatever path you took in ME1, visiting every world you went to in the same order you did. Then he found your N7 armor at the Normandy crash site. He waited an awful long time to fix a hole when he surely could've done it earlier and with more appropriate materials. It means something to him. I doubt even he understands what.

I get the feeling that the Geth are developing emotions. In the loyalty missions he questions how the Geth split and became so different, it even, my eyes, caused him distress. I don't think you can easily say the Geth have no emotion or morals. Because the Geth showed their morals by not blindly following Sovereign. Of course they did want their own future but they also showed that they do not want to harm others, only if it is deemed needed. As well as this it was a lot of effort to get Shepards N7 armour, especially when the damage was done way before he fixed it.

I assumed that when he was shot his platform was damaged and so some things couldn't function properly. That could explain why it took him so long to figure out that he should fix himself. It makes much more sense that him having emotions but he could also be lying.

When you talk to Legion he acts normal, but when you ask him about your armor he suddenly starts flapping his head plates, has pauses in his speech and there is a lack of data. Strange?

Very very strange indeed... the only logical conclusion is that he's secretly in love with Male/Fem Shep. He and the Geth are trying to figure out how to reproduce with humans and Legion has chosen his mate preemptively. He's going to sneak into your room at night and take a piece of N7 gear, modify it, and place it on his body to imitate reproductive organs.

Cause you know, he's more than just a robot, hes a best-friend/lover/developing-emotions-BOT

Shepard: Legion, why are you wearing my underwear?
Legion: ....No data available.
