I have to say, I hope Legion is available for recruitment in ME3, more so than any other character. You get him so late in the game that there is hardly any development.

There is some fairly awesome dialog available if you do a couple of side missions after completing the game and visit Legion between each one.

well at least they left the door open for character development in the next game. I was rather dissapointed when I found that what bioware meant by fully developed characters with deep personal stories was two conversations and a loyalty mission. I mean sure thats More than in ME1... Kinda but still the other Bioware characters like In DA and KOTOR had more to them than that.

Legion said that Shepard's code was superior. I've always thought about Legion's word choice when he said that, considering that its a sentient network of software programs saying that, I think it's important. The geth view Shepard as a superior entity for having defeated Sovereign, and what to incorporate that into themselves by learning about Shepard. That is my theory anyways.

It's simple.

Geth are evolving. Legion is starting to achieve individual sentience, that is, the programs inside him will soon act as if they were one, without all the "consensus" schtick. He's also starting to develop what could be considered emotions, whch explains his admiration for Shepard.

Actually, the commander is probably what started this evolution in the first place. Think about it: at first, the geth think "We can learn more about the superior organism that is Shepard-Commander by incorporating his armor into our systems". Then, they gradually start to "feel" something, that they cannot explain.

This is why Legion avoids the question: he does not have the data to answer it, because he himself does not understand why he admires Shepard so. It's like asking a young teenage boy why he is attracted to girls: he will simply blush and stutter and say something incoherent.
