well i cant seem to continue any quests in Orzammar. i was playing both sides of the 2 houses and well i guess i shouldnt have because no one will talk to me to advance the game in Orzammar. i cant do any of the side quests because ive only got one place to go in the deep mines which i cleared out completely and helped the daces. ect ect.
but niether dulin or vartag will talk to me.
i fought in the arena and serverd the 2 papers which were conflicts of intrest but i couldnt decide who i wanted to help but there was no way of knowing i would get shut out completely.
not to mention my party is sorta ruined because oghren wont talk to me and i wanted him in my party from the start of the game lol..
so what do i do next here.. can orzammar be skipped completely and i just go some where else or do i have to start my game over and do Orzammar properly and pick a side to continue the main story?
i dont want to finish most of the game just to have to come back to orzammar and be screwed and have to start over any way...
Orzammar.... cant continue?

I apologize if this sounds really inane, but have you tried exiting and restarting your game? I had a friend get stuck in Orzammar; although he was stuck in a single room with no way out, and the NPC that was supposed to let him leave would not interact with him.
He restarted his game, and everything was working again...

yes, my computer has even been restarted. it was last night when this happened so ive since closed the game restarted my pc and was playing again today and it still wont let me continue anything in orzammar.
im doing other stuff in my game right now just hoping it wont come back and bite me too bad if i can just skip orzammar.. but i hope im not screwed from atleast finishing the game once with my arcane warrior. so i can start fresh with a new class and origin.

I have this same exact problem and its been driving me crazy heres what I sent to EA:
Hello, I decided to do Orzammar last and I ran into a glitch that won't allow me to progress any further into the game. I have already put almost 50 hours into the game and I saved over my quicksaves before I realized what had happened. I started to support Lord Harrowmont at first but then changed to Prince Behlen after I read some things on a forum. Unfortunately when I did this each representative (Dulin and Vartag) both think I need to "prove that I'm trustworthy" and won't give me any other option than to tell them what the others plans are (of course I cant do that because neither of them will say one other thing to me). I'm sure you are aware of this problem because Ive looked at many forums and hundreds of other people have the same exact problem. This is the best game I've played in a very long time but I cant imagine starting over whilst 50 hours into it.
My question is then how close are you guys to releasing a patch to correct this? and if its impossible, I figure a simple registry deletion should be enough to fix this. I have three active quests that are causing a problem at this point, one is the first task for prince behlen and it is completely completed except for talking to vartag (who wont speak to me) and then the quests that each refer to betraying the other representatives (betrayed from within and shifting allegiances). I have also finished the proving which is what is causing my problem but that quest is not showing up in my quest log.
Can I expect a patch to fix this or is there something you can do? Or can I fix this problem with the toolset? Im tearing my hair out on this one please get back to me.

and then the reply:
Hi,
Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.
If you face trouble while installing "A Tale of Orzammar", then please perform the following steps:
1: Run the program from the disc interface to extract the files to your desktop.
2: Open the DAO.Orzammar folder.
3: Select the Contents folder and the Manifest.xml file.
4: Compress them into a Zip file named Orzammar.zip. Make sure that they’re both in the root of the zip, not within a folder.
5: Rename Orzammar.zip to Orzammar.dazip. You may have to go into the Tools menu of the Windows Explorer window, select Folder Options, click the View tab at the top, then uncheck “Hide extensions for known file types” in order to change the .zip to .dazip.
6: Follow the instructions in the readme to install the mod - you can drag and drop the .dazip file into the DAUpdater.exe window, select it and then push the install button.

did they even read anything besides the word Orzammar? this is a huge game breaking glitch that hundreds of people from a ton of other forums are posting like mad about, why is there no talk of fixing this?

What rather than people doing the correct thing and reloading to a save before they were stupid enough to do quests for both candidates? Sorry but I imagine this is way down on their list of things to do.
People should realise they can't have all their cake and eat it.
It is a simple solution choose one side or the other!

I had this same problem. There is a post on the forums that explains how to get around this but I can no longer find it.As far as can recall you need to enable the developer console
1: save your game and exit then create a shortcutfor daorigins.exe (not the DAorigins launcher shortcut) right click on the shortcut, select properties add -enabledeveloperconsole to the line in the target box .It should read something like this daorigins.exe" -enabledeveloperconsole
2:start game using this shortcut and load your save game .Press the ~key the console should be enabled. Now type runscript zz_orz_debug (when you start typing the command a bunch of letters, numbers etc should appear on top of the screen)
3: If all went well you should have a menu with 4 choices to choose from ,select plot jump, another menu appears now select the option which will advance the quest
hope this helps, sorry i cant find or remember the original post

If only we all were as smart (and smug) as you good sir. There are countless loading screens telling you that you're "playing both sides and that you won't be able to continue for long". Well gee, that makes it seem like you CAN play both sides for a while until you are forced to choose one or the other not that the game will throw a GAME BREAKING BUG at you. thank you for your helpful submission.
Irvinn: thank you very much, this is the first help ive gotten from anyone on this topic and Ive been searching for days. Ill search for the other post but this is more than enough to get me started, thanks again. If I figure it out ill post for other users with the same problem.
