I'm unable to access the purchase site for bioware points, despite having a valid social.bioware site and everything appearing to function properly with that account. From inside Dragon Age I use the menu options that point to "buy bioware points" so that I can purchase the Warden's Keep DLC. This menu opens my browser to the bioware.social site and immediately displays a password entry form tellilng me that I need to verify my password before proceeding to the checkout. My password is not accepted though - it keeps complaing that I've input the wrong password despite using the exact password associated with my social.bioware site account.

[e] The exact error provided to me is "The login details you provided were invalid. Please try again." This is despite already being logged in to the site.

I've tried logging out and back in on the account several times, no dice. Also tried on 2 different computers on 2 different networks.

Malan, please send me the email you use to login to the social site.

Off the bat, it appears as though for whatever reason, you are not passing the correct user info from social to points. This can be for one of several reasons.

If it's related to the email, I used a feature of google mail where I can form my email as "user.name+AnyWord@gmail.com" for purposes of filtering emails in gMail. Is it possible that the '+' sign in my email address is causing the issue?

Indeed it is. It would seem that special characters in email addresses are causing a few problems on the back end with both the payment processing and the points.bioware.com site itself.

You can change your account email at profile.ea.com, once that is done, clear your browser cache and re-try your purchase.

There is currently an issue with the points.bioware.com site recognizing the new account, but signing into the social site, as well as the game, is unaffected.

Make sure that if you do choose to change your email, that you remove and delete the cookies in your system before re-trying the purchase.

Same problem on the EA site, the account access page doesn't like the special character in the email address I provided.

I have the EXACT same problem, a + sign in my email address, email+bioware@gmail.com. I've opened MULTIPLE support tickets about this with absolutely no help. I've also tried changing emails and passwords at the EA side, etc, but there's no way to change my social.bioware.com email address so it remains broken. Note that I changed my EA profile so it doesn't have the + sign, cleared all EA and bioware cookies and my cache, and I still can't purchase points. I even tried using IE.

Unfortunately I have the stone prisoner DLC on my account with the + in it, so I'm pretty much screwed. Can anything be done? I would love to change my email address in the bioware social site, but there's no place to do it!

the sign in for social.bioware.com uses the same nucleus account that profile.ea.com does. It's all one account.

The problem lies in that blasted "+" character. It plays havoc on the back-end. When you change your email address at profile.ea.com, you should be able to sign in here with your "new" email profile. Your entitlements carry over, and all your personas remain intact. However the problem with purchasing points now, is that points.bioware.com is still having difficulties with accounts with special characters, such as "+". Even after changing the login.

Much like an onion, there are layers to accounts, we're currently instituting a fix for this, and we will update as soon as it's been deployed out.

Thanks so much for replying and looking into this. I've been banging my head against the wall for two days trying to get EA to do anything beyond sending me a link to FAQ ID 23656. Many times.

I can actually login to the social site with just email@gmail.com without the +, but it doesn't carry over all my settings, doesn't show my dragonage character, has a different forum login here, etc, that I played around with for the past 2 days while trying to fix this. So I'm concerned that if I buy points on it they won't be attached to my actual game.

I noticed that i can´t log on to this site with my chars name "Orange_Section", i had to use the e-mail adress instead, IS that kinda like the same issue as earlier posts ? AND more important,,,Will that restrict me from playing DAO or connecting to my bioware-account through the game ???

No, everybody has to login to the social site with their email address. If you can click on "add points" and it goes to a different site rather than telling you invalid login, you're cool.
