Flanged mace, all steel (no wooden handle to fail you when you parry a blow or hit a particularly hard object). Six flanges would be ideal, as would having a spike on the top.



Also, a kite shield, Preferably of layered wood and leather (wood, leather, wood, with a leather facing), held together by a steel rim and a steel boss, spiked.



Finally, a composite bow, offering superior performance in a smaller package with greater mobile accuracy.



Naturally, replace steel or other materials mentioned above with whatever exotic super materials Thedas has for the high-end versions of these weapons.

I'm confident there'll be fansites that host custom content, not just this social site.

as far as swords go, i would be thinking a long sword with a 2 handed grip or greatsword with a ricasso, but it really wouldn't matter becasue this game doesn't have such detail with techniques that a ricasso or thrusting blade would matter.  (despite the obvious depiction of plated armors in the videos so far).

i would want it undecorated with a fuller, disc pommel and straight crossguard with no design or frills.

I feel ya brotha'.   We think alike when it comes to weapons.  Typical fantasy swords are ridiculous.  A sword is a tool for killing people.  It looks best when it looks like what it is.

That's a good looking sword.

Reasonably priced and historically accurate.  They have some fantasy swords but overall decent site.

I'm gonna go with dual wielding Excalibur and Frostmourne. If those are not readily available I will go with Abram's Axe of the Stoic from original EQ, just b/c.
