I was playing through ME1 again today, and found a star that looks exactly as the one behind the Illusive Man in all of his scenes.  Also, there was a smaller blue star right next to it that looked just like the one in the background at the end of the game.  It's in the Armstrong Nebula in the Vamshi system.  I don't remember the name of the planet, but it's the only one you can land on in the system, and if you look up, both the red-giant and the blue thing are both right there.  Sound close?

For some odd reason, I feel like you just did a few weeks worth of work for the writer team by coming up with that. :P

Anyone else find this same bit of information? Luck had me stumble upon it...

I remember that planet, now that you mention it. I don't remember its name either, but I know what you're talking about... huh. Could be?

I'm pretty sure there's much more to the Illusive man then what we've seen. Pay attention to the backgrounds whenever he talks, one side always has stars, the other is complete void.

I don't know if its significant, but always gives me an ominous feeling.

I'd like to know what the deal is with his eyes... Effects from implants? IS HE A REAPER? Haha, but they kept focusing on them, so they have to mean something.

No way. The background star would be a complete and obvious give away of his location to anyone talking to him. I highly doubt someone who doesn't even give his real name to his top employees would so willing give away his hiding location like this. I'd be shocked if that didn't turn out to be a screen or something.

I assumed they were implants or cybernetic in some way.

I don't think rocket scientists made this game, nor do I think games always have common logic, haha. There could be a mission in ME3 where you have to find him, and that's all you have. Sure, in real life that wouldn't happen, but neither would a human beating all these Reapers.

Ok, first, there is a 99% chance that background is a projection and in no way indicates his actual location. Secondly, if you see that graphic in ME1 somewhere it is probably because it has been reused.

I thought possibly too, but something tells me there's more...

If a forumite could figure out where TIM is, I doubt that someone who lives in that universe (Someone like Shepard, for example) couldn't.

Considering it is also going supernova, it's not exactly the safest place to be for TIM. I always thought that it was a screen, and for dramatic effect obviously. Especially when it is completely blue at the end game conversation with TIM.

I think people who think TIM is a reaper or harbinger are looking too far into things. Considering their similarities to Shepard's eyes they are obviously cybernetic implants.

Indeed, the color of that star is either blue or red depending on what you choose to do with the collector base, at least that is what I assume. Though I also noticed that it is normal colored if Shepard dies (YouTube).

Haha, totally joking about the Reaper thing. For Barker - the blue thing is what made me think it's in Vamshi, because there's both a red star and a blue star that look identical (size and color difference only), side by side. You figure, with orbiting, at the end of the game, maybe the blue star was in front of the red star, causing you to only see that star. For the supernova part - it's not safe, but who would search for him in such an unstable region? Perhaps he has some super-advanced technology that protects him (kidding again). I don't know, just food for thought. Look for yourself though, like I said, ME1, Armstrong Nebula, Vamshi system, only planet you can land on. It'll be interesting for you at the least.

I think i read somewhere (possibly mass effect ascension that he made them like that so that he had the edge when negotiating or something like that

His eyes are definitely related to implants. If you don't heal your cybernetic scars as Shepard and go Renegade, you start getting Illusive Man's eyes.

Really? That's actually kind of cool then... Why can't I get those eyes as a Paragon? I mean, they're blue, and blue is related to Paragons... My cheeks are still red though, I look like I have rosacea even with 100% Paragon.

Ya I got this impression too. As a Renegade I notice I had the same eyes as TIM except they are red. It made me inclined to think TIM is a Paragon of sorts, so maybe there is more to his story. Or he just made them that way as some people have stated.

The star in the background could not possibly indicate where TIM is, because it changes colors. At the end of the game, it's blue. Stars don't go blue in the space of a few hours.

Read the whole post, then comment, there are 2 stars in the system that are present, one red, one blue.

To explain what that means, is that as they orbit, different stars may come into view.  Much like how the moon will eclipse the Sun from time to time, that is the possibility in this scenario.

He could be the one disrupting Haestrom's sun with dark energy, and viewing it via uploaded video from an on-site camera, space station, or another planet in the Dholen system within the Far Rim.

Just my opinion, but probably true.  Jeebus speaks the truth. Posted Image
