Messianic figures don't need parents, they are born out of midiclorians.

I hugged a lot of people threw all of there missions... Jacobs bro hug, the mother of the artist on the Samara Loyalty mission, Tali... forget who else. But the point is you get to hug a lot of people threw everyones Daddy Issues. I think we need more mom issues in the third game.

Also Bioware I think it's come up that most of the Bioware team has had father issues, maybe you guys should go to a doctor or something...

This is common in most myths and legends, space opera is a variation on those stories. Jason, Heracles, Oedipus, the offspring of Cronus, any offspring of Zeus/Poseidon, King Arthur, etc. had some sort of paternal/maternal/family issues. It is the driving force of most fiction.

It is a facet of much fiction, yes, but not "most." Furthermore, I would go so far as to say that it is enough of an issue that it's rather cliché. Especially when virtually all the characters in a story all have this same issue.

Why create a new topic when an existing one works just as well? :)

Even Shepard is not immune. Shep's father is dead in all of the backgrounds, if I recall correctly.

As far as we know, I think, Spacer!Shepard's father is still alive
