 I think it's a little bit unfair.

First DAO and now ME2.
People which using pirate version (torrents & etc) have all DLCs and they can play anytime anywhere with out any problem (offline mode).

People who bought a game have couple DLC and MUST be ONLINE all time for gaming to proof that they are not thiefs, because they are greedy PC gamers and they want to steal EA/BioW's games only.

I think EA/BioW give us a tip that users must be Renegade and non Paragon with their games.

Honestly, I don't know anymore what will make me to buy another their game. I mean I like BioW (not EA for sure), and prefer to pay for the software, but when they prefer to make pirates more happy then real helping people which ae buying their games, then it's mean next time is a time to feel the Power of the Dark Force ™.

Please, BioW/EA make your DLC protection more superior so good people can be happy more, then pirates.

...Wait what? I have a legit copy of the PC version and I can play it while offline just fine. It just means I can't connect to the cerberus network until I get back online, that's the only difference.

I didn't check offline mode with ME2 yet, But with DAO if you want to play with DLC => you need to be logged in.

I mean to some point it was ok, not until DLC became a part of the game (like DLC-Party_Person).

You sure about that?  I have DAO as well, with DLC, and I play it offline without any problems either.

I can play both DA: O and ME2 without being online. Even with the DLC.

I believe not being able to is a bug.

That is wrong. You can play offline with all DLC. You only have to be online to buy and download new DLC.

For me it says all time that DLC will not be loaded, until I will not be logged to the BioW Social Network.

Ok, everyone I see your point. Which is mean minus one point to me for not testing DLC offline because of believing to text which on the screen, but the main idea of post about a little bit different.

Erm do some research. Both games have always been playable offline. You only need to be online to initially verify the DLC. I play them offline more than I do online.

Why does it seem to always need to auto log in to the online thing? Is that only for checking for new content or does it enable the existing DLC?

You can disable the autolog in by going into the options and then the "Online" tab.  By default its set to auto log in, but you don't need it to.  You don't need to be online to play the DLC as long as you have it downloaded and installed already.

I do not play online and I have had no problems with my DLC.

That said, I AM using a no-dvd patch because I refuse to have my legit DVD in the dvd mechanic when playing the game.

It is not possible to play the game without the dvd? wow that sucks!

I always buy the digital versions, specially with steam... Got the deluxe edition of Mass Effect 2 for only 25 bucks. I find it cheaper and easier.

It's been pretty well known from day one that the DLC model being used is intended to reduce the sale of used copies. People who pirate games will continue to do so, regardless of what measures are taken. The argument that people are pushed to piracy by anything is silly. Some people pirate all of their games, some a few, and some of us don't do it at all. Nothing a developer does will change that. You can add extra steps to annoy the pirates, but if they want to pirate, they will do so.

Not true when I spent three months in Brazil without internet access my DLC for ME2 were eventually deactivated because I couldn't get online. I had the Kasumi DLC and couple of Cerberus Net freebies and I was relegated to vanilla ME2. I've felt your pain OP.

Well, it's been 11 months since the OP graced us with his tale of woe, but I'm sure he somehow knows that you feel his pain after all this time.

Okay. So people who spend three months in Brazil with no internet access might be inconvenienced. I will grant you that. But is that a very large subset of the customer base? No.
