Really? I'm actually interested in it. What was the results of the case?

And I hope they made cases against organized religion and a republic with the system similar to the American Goverment as well. (Seriously though if ones going to make a case against something there's a lot more things threatening the welfare of human society then someone being gay)

Commander Shepard will never be gay, its not because your being left out, its because thats the way the story is mate.

Gay
rights have nothing to do with it, Bioware is allowed to put whatever
they want in their games. Your not being left out, your simply not
being included. Grow up, get over it and move on. Just roleplay a
character who doesn't take it up the bum. It won't hurt anyone.

So I can't make a FemShep that does anything other than missionary style? Honestly can you mature a little? That whole "take it up the bum" was competely unnecessary.

No its ignorant for bioware to support people who don't want male gay relationships simply because they don't like them. Ignorant and homophobic. And this stuff about sales being effected is crazy. I believe this is because Zerevan(sp) would sleep with anything.  He went both ways, that was the type of character he was.

You see when you write and design stories and characters they take on their own lives.  They are just as unique as a real person, if you design them well.

You should never just make a character for the sake of any kind of demograph.  Major or minor.  You should get your story, get your characters that will tell this story through their experience, and then tell it.

Mass Effect should have a gay male option period. For all the people saying John Shepard isn't gay so there's no point making a gay option, for starters you can make your own Shepard so why couldn't one that you make yourself be gay as apposed to the must be straight default john Shepard. Aside from that the female Shepard can be straight or gay. TO argue that they include this because ignorant straight masses approve of girl on girl action and not Mano a Mano is not only wrong on so many levels its infuriating. The romance angle of the game is not the focal point but the fact that Bioware and the Mass Effect series have made such big steps to make a romance more then just a black screen with cheesy sex noises ( Fable, GTA ) shows that its still something they have worked on properly. The blatant segregation is offensive and the fact that bioware is willing to shrug it off as the "minority" gay fans can just go **** themselves cause we are going to cave to the ignorant masses. Well to be honest bioware your like a ****** made out of sand paper. I everything about mass effect and think that its gotten even better in 2 but this just really pisses me off. Please consider the option in ME3. I feel dirty supporting you cowardice but I still want to play ME.

*sighs* You couldn't have made that I don't know. Less insulting and more reasonable?

:/

I mean its not like they're going to do it anyways its too much of a risk and BioWare values their sales too higly so you could at least try to be a little more persuasive. Acting like that is only going to make them want to do it even less. >_<

If your saying there just going to ignore me either way which is of course what they will do then what IS the point in kissing up to them. They probaly wont even read this. Your being silly ^.^;;;

Not to mention once they let in a homosexual relationship, the character (in this example, jacob) will forever be known as "Gay Jacob" or something like that.

Only because of those who go "OMG he's GAY! That's so much MORE important than his actual CHARACTER" In other words those kiddies that wouldn't look beyond the surface of a character. The same people one would think BioWare didn't want to attact.

Alas! They seem to be the largest demographic of gamers. Or maybe their the most easy to please? Strange considering that the average gamer is supposed to be around 30 :?.

I'm not angry about BioWare not implenting it (okay maybe I am a little peeved especially considering they pretty much had it in the game but disabled it [and BioWare's gay romances do tend to be exactly the same as the female ones except for switching gender pronouns and maybe an additional comment or two]) I understand that. Its the whole half arsed thing I'm getting annoyed with. If you're not going to let Shep be gay then don't. Don't place a lesbian Asari relationship in game, don't have gay/lesbian flings.

Then again I am pretty much an all or nothing person.

Darn you Capricorn nature! :innocent:

Handheld will clear this up and say that no demographic was chosen over the other nor was any specific audience targeted. Handheld knows they released the game so everyone could play it and enjoy it and accusing them of leaving out one group is ridiculous and whiny. Handheld thinks it is indeed sad its not withing game but Handheld is happy enough to even have the chance to play this wonderful game instead of people ripping it down simply because each and every persons wishes were not met.

Handheld says good job bioware on the wonderful game and ignore all the whiners and listen to all the improvement suggestions for future patches and dlc.

Personally I don't think that should matter though.  I don't things are going to get 'let in'.

As you phrase it.

To be more clear I am all for relationships of the same sex.  What I am not for is calling 'fowl' on bioware because they didn't include in in the saga so far.  At least of the male gender.

I see what your saying and I agree that they shouldnt force characters for a said demograph. But then you could argue what was the need for Jacob to be black? Why not just make another white human character. Probaly because they wanted variation, divercity and within the characters. So a male gay chracter is also a kind of chracter that could have been in the story if they had wanted it to be. Like joker being crippled and so on.

What I'm concerned about is that you can not play as a differently-abled person, there are barely even any wheel-chair accessible ramps! It angers me greatly that Bioware refuses to acknowledge the differently-abled community in their games!

Handheld thinks the color of jacobs skin has no part in this conversation and the reason he is the color he is is because bioware designed him to look like this in both galaxy and ME2

Bah that does get tiriing. And I love the "OMG I'm a victim!" act they pull when someone calls them out on their s***. <_<

They can insult people of an alternate orientation all day long but the second you start mention how they are in fact insulting their very savior by doing so "Turn the other cheek, treat others as you want to be treated." they start shrieking about how GOD (the very God who would have shown them the "mercy" they show gay people by vilifying and condeming them) said that it was wrong despite being saved by his all merciful Son.

Gotta love irony. <_<

ugh Okay w/e no point in debating with people online, just asking for trolls. At the end of the day its clear and simple that bioware has supported a form of discrimination and that bugs me. I know that I will still buy ME3 even if they don't include a male/male Shepard option because the series in itself is a great one and ive spent far to much type getting into the story to stop before the last chapter. At the end of the day I will expect things that might be deemed to much based on social standerds because I really don't think it is much at all if you put it into perspective. Pointless ranting on my part ends now. LOL to think i thought venting on a form would help....

On a serious note, lesbian relationships let them say, "Hey, we got gays!" but are still "safe" enough to not draw controversy. Bioware, being a business, has no moral imperative to be on the front lines of social change.

Handheld names this as false bioware has supported nothing besides making excellent games that is an assumption and one that Handheld himself refuses to even aknowledge as remotely intelligent that is called whining and it gets you nothing but forum ogres and also makes you no better than them.
