Look guys, when it comes down it, there will never be a gay romance option in ME2 or ME3. Its been confirmed by Bioware.
The majority of the community would not appreciate it, they would probably hate on the character, it would spark all kinds of controversy(Fox news anyone?) and its just un-needed. Probably only 2% or less of people that play mass effect are homosexual and probably only 5% would actually want a homosexual relationship in the game.
The way our society percieves homosexuality at the moment, having a gay romance subplot in the game would be distasteful, unneeded and would stop a lot of parents from buying their children the game once it makes it onto the news.
Gay Romances have no place in the Mass Effect trilogy, not in the day and age we live in.
I think this is the total wrong way to go about this, and if these is the belief and reason why someone would do a certain action then it is WRONG.
Doing something because people are afraid of the controversy or because people in this day in age don't accept it is just stupid.
The only reason things get accepted and then changed is people DO talk about it and do push against it when it is controsveral.
Think about civil rights. Think about gender role and equality.
Now, for Mass Effect, I don't believe something should be put in just because.
This is creative license, Bioware has the RIGHT to make the game how they want. It is their game and their story they are giving to us. They shouldn't have to be forced to place in any types of characters. Whoever they are.
What is wrong though, is if someone went to an audition for a series on a TV show for example, and didn't get the part because they were attracted to the same sex or had a different skin tone.
There is a big difference between these things, and people usually mash them together.
