Zaeed was a true tough guy. I really felt he fit the tough guy act perfectly, better than all the rest to be honest. Garrus is good too, he was much more rough this time around. Jack was also a rough, with a godo reasonable explanation as well.

This. They really nailed his character, IMO. I also liked the uniqueness of the way you interacted with him. Made him stand out a bit more.

All I care about is if getting him killed ruins the achievement.

Other than that, he can stay in his room and play with the garbage chute for all I care. He brings nothing new nor interesting to the table. He's every inch a tacked-on, ill-defined DLC... very unlike Shayle, who fit flawlessly into the world.

I wouldn't judge him as a character that hard. What BioWare DID do wrong though, I think, is that he didn't receive a dialogue tree like all the rest.

He looks like a LOTR Goblin.

Zaeed was an excellent character. Very well written, very charismatic. I loved his stories. Just wish there had been more interaction opportunities.

exactly. I think you people are judging a bit harshly. Sure bioware definitely didn't spend as much time on him as they should have, not giving him a dialouge wheel really sucks. But his stories, character and backstory is actually pretty interesting. He's definitely not a flat character, especially if you listen to all his stories. and he's not really heartless either, he shows the most sympathy for the dumb kids who get killed too early. It shows this if you take him with you to save archangel, and he mentions a few stories about that sort of thing as well.

I really hope he's in ME3 and hopefully as a party member, with more story and a dialouge wheel.

Well once I got him as a DLC (one of those with the Cerberus Network Code snafu) I found him a good compliment with my Infiltrator. And once he got that Incendary Grenade it helped a lot. And he survived in my game. I liked his loyalty mission in so far as he got exactly what he deserved. My paragon Shep was so pissed off with him at the end of it all I was surprised when I didnt pull the trigger because really had he not tried blowing up the place it would have been so much simpler to complete it.

100% Agreed.
My first run through was with my Infiltrator, and before I got the DLC all figured out I was running through the game primarily with a Grunt/Jack combo for meat shield and biotics: this match up, in my opinion, didn't really compliment the Infiltrator all that well.  It all changed once I got Zaeed though.  His disruptor ammo, combined with mine allowed us to make quick work of mechs/geth, his inferno grenade plus my incinerate allowed us to make quick work of husks, and armored targets.  Then when combined with Thanes biotics, my infiltrator team was able to eliminate shields/armor with out a fus, as well as deal with most minor threats without any worries.  On top of all that, in certain situations I could have Zaeed play sniper with Thane, allowing us to kill most enemies before they can get anywhere near us.

Zaeed comes across as a no non-sense merc, who's only interest is to get the job done and move on.  He isn't with sheppard to be friends; he's with Sheppard to get paid.  In that regard I can appreciate the fact that we don't get to have any real face time with him.

TLDR: Zaeed complimented my Infiltrator.  I liked him.

I'm a deotologist. I don't really believe in a gray area.

Meh. Something about him I find off-putting. Not interested.

:bandit:

C'mon. He's a battle-hardened merc whose grizzled, scarred exterior is hiding a heart of gold.

Yes, but that's not an excuse for not being able to separate fiction from reality. It seems to me that you think that if you recruit Zaeed, you are a horrible person. You'll get along much better with the forums if you'd adopt a less holier-than-thou attitude.

Judging a character by a four-word blurb on him is a little strange. Zaeed isn't the nicest guy around, but he definitely does have a conscience.

Bad marketing on BioWare's end then. Those blurbs should be cannon, not marketing bullcrap.

Could someone recount more about him? I rejected him because of BioWare's description, not because I'm a judgemental person. I mean I romanced Jack, and she's like the poster child of being unfairly judged.

:bandit:

Why not just download and recruit him? If you don't like him, tell him his attitude isn't working out and get the fun of booting him off your team(and proving yourself right).

I like characters who I feel will take the Reaper threat seriously, beyond just fighting the Collectors. Just about all the 10 squadmates seem like they do (cept maybe Grunt, and maybe maybe Samara) - Zaeed does not in the slightest.

I liked him altho I tried not to use him much. But after every mission id run down and listen to some of his cool stories. My only problem with it was there was only like 20-30 stories and with him giving 2 each visit he ran out of them pretty fast.

Zaeed is my boy lol, I used him and Miranda on like every mission. He died in my final battle too cause i wanted him in charge of the second team. Im definetly doing it over again tho so he lives. Bioware bring Zaeed to ME3! best npc in this one imo.

I like him but I'm kinda wondering what I used 500mb for since he doesn't even have a tree wheel. I did notice that if you pick him up first and take him to get Garrus that he has an scene with one of the leaders but thats the only difference that I've notice so far.
