Two very obvious possibilities. 1) Time limit on the stasis, and it ran out. 2) Proximity to the Collector ship is what powers the stasis field. The first is highly unlikely, but the second one seems reasonable.

Are you sure the Collectors came for Ash/Kaiden? You couldn't be. They're on that planet for the same reason Ash/Kaiden are. Because TIM leaked that Shepard was alive, working with Cerberus, and heading for Horizon. There's no reason to believe the Collectors knew Ash/Kaiden would be there.
