I've noticed while playing both Mass Effects sound ignores the subwoofer completely. My surround sound is set up properly as the woofer works with my PS3, DVD player and digital cable, so I'm under the impression its a problem with the game. I have a Sony STR-DH500 A/V Receiver with my xbox using HDMI for video and TOSlink for audio, the xbox audio is set to dobly digital 5.1. If anyone else has this problem I'd appreciate any info on how to fix it.

1) Go to System Settings, Audio, change to Dolby Stereo. Exit.
2) Go back to System Settings, Audio, change back to Dolby Stereo 5.1
Steps 1 and 2 resolved almost all my ME2 sound issues.
(My sound issues were ALSO only in ME2), and on a Sony receiver.
It's also worth pointing out sometimes on the Sony Receivers you need to do:
Powerup Receiver
Powerup Television
Powerup X-Box
For it to work properly on X-Box. I have no idea why (I assume maybe something with HDCP?)

ok here is my issue. my surround works. I have ambient sounds coming from the back speakers without issue. MY ISSUE is that when my squadmates are behind me I cant here a damn thing they are saying as the back speakers (or it could be the center speaker) do not play the voice. I have to turn Shepard to face them to here what they are saying else it gets muffled with the background ambience.
any solutions?
