Mass Effect 1
patch 1.02
System:
Athlon 64 X2 5600+ (2,813 MHz)
4 GB RAM (3.25 GB usable)
GeForce GTX 275 (driver 196.21)
Realtek HD Audio output (driver 5.10.0.5413)
WinXP
DirectX 9.0c (Mar2009 or later)
installed on an SATA Raid 0
Problem:
While audio is working perfectly, the video stutters, freezing for a few microseconds nearly all the time regardless of it being a cutscene or normal gameplay. This is more or less constant and not happening with any other game (haven't installed ME2 yet).
Solutions I've tried without success:
(Found these on diverse forums.)
- Defragmented with Defraggler instead of my usual MyDefrag.
- Deinstalled my graphic's & Physix' drivers, restarted, deleted all Nvidia folders, cleaned the registry using Ccleaner & installed latest drivers.
- Can't revert to pre-Physix drivers as my card is too new and not supported.
- Disabled / enabled Vsync.
- Used minimum video settings.
- Disabled cool & quiet (CPU energy saving) in the BIOS.
- Turned off hardware acceleration for audio (fixed a different bug).
- Turned down hardware acceleration for my SoundBlaster Audigy ZS (which I'm not using while I play ME1).
Any more ideas?
Btw, where is the search function for this forum hidden? You'd think it would be obvious, but I can't seem to find it, not even the useless one from when DA:O got released that only gave out users as results.
