As the title says. Got my nice-looking character replaced by a fugly one, and now I'm desperately looking to get back my handsome looking Dalish elf . Any help will be appreciated.

At the moment you cannot. Not sure if they will be adding it or not.
The only thing we can do is grab the four files off of our hard drive and email them out to whoever might want them. That doesn't help if you want to pull the online down back onto your harddrive though.

I have noticed when making a character and saving that it only generates the .chr file. I believe the other items are only generated by hitting the upload button. It seems the game generates the website ready files from the CHR data and that is what is uploaded to the social site.
In order to back up your character all you seem to need is the .chr file.
This raises the obvious question, can you edit the .xml file prior to the upload occurring to 'tweak' your details.
