Hi there,

i am playing Mass Effect 1 at the Moment with Mass Effect 2 lying on my Desktop.

I would like to play Mass Effect 2 with an imported "goodguy" Shepard (and laterone with a badass) (does this have any sense or is it just the same as playing Mass Effect 2 without importing?)

Well i have read that the romance from Mass Effect 1 has some impact on Mass Effect 2. So the Romance from 1 would go on in 2 even if the Love can not join the Squad. And i read that i could take on a new romance but that would have some consequences on the old and on Mass Effect 3.

That's what i "know" (think to know) so far so i'm coming to my problem:

I have played Mass Effect 1 till the Point that i have Liara in my Squad and also finished Ferros... so there is Novaria (what this the name?) left. I also did every(!) minor quests (don't know what it's called in English.. the optional quests) that i have so far and that could be solved and i also visited every planet i could so far... so this was quite a lot of "stupid work"

So up to my romance i am that far that i told liara that she is right when she thinks that i have feelings for her (when she asks shepard about having feelings for ashley and then when i regret that she asks for feelings for liara). I also decided me for Liara when she and Ahsley talked to Shepard in the Communication Room.

So i am at the Point where Liara told Shepard that there is no time for this Love due to Saren and so on but there could be love when things are over...

So... i just wanted to know if i can quit that Romance anyway without having impacts on Mass Effect 1,2 or 3?

Thali ist my most favourite Girl but there was no Chance in Mass Effect 1 to get on her but i would love to in 2 without having issues...

In ME1, your love interest will approach Shepard in the captain's quarters. This is your last chance to back out of the romance. If you go through the romantic encounter, presumably it will carry through to ME3 where the ramifications of "cheating" will be revealed. Nobody knows what that will mean for the story though.

ME1 - relationship begins
ME2 - relationship hits a rocky point
ME3 - ???

Edit: there is a character in ME2 who will question Shepard after an encounter with the ME1 love interest, and ask how it went. You can say "it's over" but I don't know if that's a way out without cheating or what. We have to see with ME3.

Depending on who you romanced in the first game, they may already be mad at you. Kaidan and Ashley are still serving in the Alliance and they are quite understandably pissed to discover that Shepard is working with Cerberus, who they view as the enemy. The fact that they don't understand Shepard was basically dead for two years complicates things; they thought Shepard basically went rogue and broke off all contact with them for two years to run off and play at being a Cerberus operative.

Liara's plays out different since she apparently had a big role in preventing Shepard's body from being turned over to the Collectors. She certainly acts cold toward the player.

I backed out at the last second with Liara, but when I imported my save, her picture was on my desk. Any idea why that happened?
