During the Landsmeet, I have agreed to marry Anora to become Prince Consort (this time, I'm looking after No. 1 for a change! )

I am in a romance with Leliana (with 100 Love approval) and she has been "Hardened". However, upon approaching her, wanting to keep her "on the side", she flat out dumps me.

Now, I know for a fact that in the Toolset there is a dialog option to keep a hardened Leliana on the side if you choose to marry Anora (she says something like "For me to be so close to the throne of Ferelden..."). In my playthrough, she is definitely hardened (sexy-times at the Pearl).

Yes - it's bringing out the 13-year old boy in me and apologies if this has already been discussed, but it's been bugging me to tears that it has to be Anora or Leliana, not both. After spending so much time and effort romancing her, I want to both have and eat my cake!

*Update*: It looks like it's a bug. In the Toolset, it appears it's using the wrong version of "Leliana is Hardened" flag to prompt the dialog, so it would never appear. I've done a quick mod to fix this and it works!!! Yay! Two beautiful women and a seat on the throne.

Update 2: You should now also be able to continue a romance with hardened Leliana if you are to marry Alistair as queen.

Update 3: Updated the patch to include a fix to another bug (thanks ejoslin!) where the "marriage" dialog triggers regardless of whether Leliana is in an active romance with the PC. So now you need to be in a romance with Leliana for her to dump you (duh!).

Not interestd personally, but upload it anyway. Someone is bound to need it and they will be gratefull you fixed it.

I never seem to manage to harden Lel, so I'd love to see a patch that did it for me.

Hardening Leliana is fairly easy if in the dialog after her personal quest to get her to admit that she enjoys killing:

If you've missed that, you can still harden her by running DAO in debug mode and running a script such as:



runscript zz_den_debug



and changing your party's (ie Leliana's) flags.



But the bug I was referring to was the fact that Leliana dumps you regardless of if you have hardened her or not if you are to marry Anora (it's not supposed to).

How are you supposed to harden Leliana?

Through dialog options after completing Leliana's personal quest (see the wiki link above). Definitely worth it if you plan to visit the Pearl in Denerim...

I thought I read somewhere that you could have both, but when I tried it and it didnt work I just figured it wasnt true. So if you do end up uploading it somewhere I would be interested.

Oh, Leliana gives such a sad line if you're marrying Alistair, about how he will learn to love the warden if he doesn't already. How could he help it? I would imagine it would be the same with the marriage to Anora. Now, I've never deliberately romanced Leliana in my royal wedding ones, but it does seem she won't stay around. Maybe you can talk her into it at the very end, at the final celebration -- I think you can ask her to stay with you. Zevran, however, will stay if you ask him to.

You definitely end up in the "Friend Zone" with Leliana after the conversation without the fix and I don't think that will change even at the epilogue.



I've also noticed the same bug if you are to marry Alistair as well! There are other dialogs options if you plan to be queen and it will allow you to keep Leliana on the side...

Ah, to me it always made sense that Leliana would leave but Zevran would stay. I thought Lel's dialog was so sweet, but it sounded so final as well.

Agreed. I guess "normal" Leliana would be "sweet" as such, and hence I would've expected to say what she did.



But yes it did seem a little too submissive and final for a hardened Leliana (especially after the Pearl!). I guess now it should work as they had designed it!

The major problem I have with Leliana's dialog is you get it when marrying Alistair no matter what. Even if you never romanced her.  Definitely makes sense that it's a bug.

Oh yes - I remember this...



From the looks of the dialog tree in the Toolset, it appears that a romance isn't needed for that dialog to be triggered, so yes - it looks like you're going to be dumped regardless.



If you're interested, I can look at trying to add a fix to this too (requirement to be in a romance first)... Makes sense, really.

@ejoslin: I've now updated the patch to include a fix to add the requirement that you need to be in an active romance with Leliana for her to dump you...

Ohoh, thank you, and will test it out. I'm sure I have a human noble or two with a save in that area.
