This was a fun mission, and its cool and all to have a base, and the extra storage, but I do wish that when I was there it was setup like the camp, where I could interface with my group and the other NPCs/Objects that I would at camp, it certainly would be less hassle then having to go back and forth.  It would have also been nice if the inside of the keep had been fixed up, seems strange to be standing out in the snow when you have a fortress you could be hanging out in.  Maybe it will get developed more further on in.

The only other thing I wish I could adjust was the size of my reply text. it seems small on my screen.

Overall, great game, really enjoying it.

Maybe when the modding tools are getting out, it can be changed. I imagine that once the tools are out, mods will be getting plenty to find.

I was very sad actually to find that you couldn't get back into the keep. I don't like the rogue that I have with me so far so I only get her when I want to unlock chests. I also was hoping to get back in and have there be more to do with the mage I was kind of hoping keeping him alive would yield something interesting from his research.

yea, was expecting something a bit longer or a stronghold more than just a courtyard...took about an hr or so to get thru, have no idea how they can say 3-6 hrs for that content....

I agree, the whole thing was way too short. It was a neat little bit of story... but there just wasn't enough to it.

It definitely needed to be maybe five or ten times longer.

And we should have been able to do something with the Keep.

I was hoping we might end up with something similar to what NWN2 did (I know, not Bioware, but still). The keep in that game was deep and immersive. You had a ton to do with it.

And even just having a place to customize. Make it the new camp.

Give us weapon and armor racks to show off our gear.

A very quick set of battles, and it's all done.

Granted, the merchants that are available once you're done are nice... for a short bit. But their gear doesn't change. If at least they kept getting random items for sale or something... it would give us a reason to return.

You'll get the sword after clearing the Keep.

There's a special random encounter which will net you a piece of ore that you can take back to the blacksmith at the keep.

I agree with the idea that it should be set up as a camp. The whole "you get a stronghold" idea pretty much led me to believe it would take the place of the camp - kind of like a camp upgrade or something like that. I also don't get why it was closed up after completion, once again "you get a stronghold", Hmm? more like you get an area with a shop & storage... They could've made it fell a lot more like YOUR keep simply by making it a camp & leaving it open, at least just to re-explore & walk through if nothing else.

Beyond that, I enjoyed the quest a lot. It was really interesting & the battles were relatively challenging. I wan't expecting 3-4hours (evidently I never read that someone said that was that long) so was not disappointed at all with my hour or so play through. It was fun & I didn't mind the price (especially because it was lower than the "standard" 800MSP).

I read on the DLC that it was several hours worth of play and a dungeon crawl too. I was expecting a basement dungeon maze or something. It was 2 floors and a tower. Tooke me 45min to complete. I guess if you played on all 6 origings that would equal a couple hours....

I totally agree with the OP. I was very disappointed that my camp wasn't moved into the Keep. I was hoping that my companions would be found inside the Keep. I also would have liked if my merchants would occupy the empty houses in the courtyard, like an actual store you have to enter.

Anyone remember the Keep in NWN 2? All your companions moved into the castle once you completed that quest and paid the guy to rebuild it. Deekin also got a store!! Aww Deekin, he was a cool npc hahaha.

So, yea, Wardens Keep needs to be a bit more developed

I also finished the whole quest in a around 45 mins. There's no way it would take 3-6 hours lol

Yeah the quotes from Bioware about 3-6-hours, and up to 5 hours of gameplay, were well wide of the mark.  Even playing as slow as I could, it was done in 45mins.

I was very surprised at how short it was.  I was expecting catacombs under the castle, with loads of skeletons to battle etc.

Unless they meant 3-6 hours randomly walking around the World Map waiting for the meteorite drop for the Starfang sword?  In that case, it took me a while to get that one!

yes we really need to be able to build onto the Wardens keep area somehow.

The big question is how to use it as a ture base in the story? I am wondering now that my campsite has been invaded and is no longer safe. Will Wardens keep begin to have more purpose?

Does all the DLC have to fit in with the storry from the start? Can the game go on after an ending? Can DLC be created for each different ending to contiue the game?

I think you should be able to go back inside and have storage and advisors there. Add smiths and herbmaster that can grow **** for your alchemist making potions and poisons. Trapmakers and hunters.

Later on when you gather military assistance they would be there, and you could upgrade their equipment and all.

If you let the mage live to continue his research, with or without blood magic, will you ever hear from him or the results of his research again? Does it make any difference at all to the game whether you let him live or kill him (and get his robe)?

Hmmm. Good to know. I was beggining to think I missed something. I did Wardens Keep before Orzimmar. I've since completed Orzimmar and I have yet to get the starmetal ore.

You can get the starmetal before going to Warden's Keep- or, at least, I did on my PC game. That random encounter seems to happen quite early in the game.

I've never heard from him again, he does warn you that it could take years to make any progress though...

For reference, I did Warden's Keep fairly early on, I am near the end of the game now.

As for the orgininal topic, I felt that the Keep was sort of interesting, but it could have been longer.  I decided to kill the demon in there, so I really didn't find out much about the history of the place.  The keep was fun, but a bit short and it would be nice to be able to do more at the base afterward.

Too short of DLC for $7. I really hate being locked out of the keep.

Warden's Keep was a bit of a letdown. It was interesting enough while it lasted and the quest was decent, but I thought "reclaim the stronghold for the wardens" would be more like "your own awesome keep ala D'Arnise keep in BG2 or the castle in NWN2." I was rather disappointed with what we got. At the least, being able to kick back in a restored keep with Leliana on my lap would've been nice. Instead, the doors are closed behind us? It doesn't feel like a base, even though in the end it technically has everything I'd expect from a base in this game.

you did reclaim the keep, for those that follow, for the Wardens yet to be, a keep is a place of safety, to rest, to train, and to recruit. This is a Blight, the ArchDemon flies on tattered wings, the darkspawn pour forth their hatred and desire for dominance, you have no time for safety, no time to recruit, this is it, the entire purpose of your order. You have reclaimed your orders heritage, not your own,if you win the order can be remade, and they will have the keep, you do not have time for such things, and also no need. Their is no refuge in the blight, no sanctuary fight now, or die.
