Worst Bioware game ever

One thing that I do miss is the character interaction from DA:O... that made it feel like I had something to do with the characters, that they were people.
By this I mean the people in your party talking to each other while you're walking around the world. I don't know if including that in ME2 would have made the game better for me or not.
I didn't feel this to be much of an RPG myself, it had some elements but it was more like Borderlands, an FPS/RPG (notice FPS is first).
Now I'm not saying this is the worst game ever, it's not, far from it. I just had it held up to really high standards and was slightly disappointed.

I don't see why people don't like that this is gone... it drove me nuts. Good job Bioware on ME2.
Because they also took away the only way to customize yourt party's look. IT IS CRAP!
I am not going to take a half naked chick or a turian with holes in his armor into combat. THAT IS STUPID!

But you'll lug around 150 suits of armor and rifles because realism is clearly paramount to you. Don't be a hypocrit.

Sorry but I just can't accept the statement that ME2 is the worst Bioware game ever. ME2 has choices and consequences, interactive dialogue and meaningful character development, both in the skills you gain and the relationships you forge. With just those three on the table, it beats the first Baldur's Gate and NWN hands down.
That's a little unfair to BG1 and NWN. They both had things they did very well, even if they were weak in the aspects you mention.

I am very disappointed with this Mass Effect 2.
It's just a gear of war with dialogue, the RPG part is a joke and there is no scenario so far.
I think the sonic game for DS was more a RPG that this game is.
Leveling is a joke, it's mass effect but weaker in every part, because the focus was to create a Gear of war clone.
I have to assume that I will not anymore buy blindly a Bioware game, that make me sad.

More like Borderlands, that game had zero story, zero choices and yes that was a fps with almost no rpg elements. (still enjoyed Borderlands)
ME2 has a great story, great interaction with your squad, choices to be made and that makes a great RPG for me. I don't get it why people say, this is the worst RPG bioware made, cause bioware made it clear that they think RPG is al in the storytelling and the choices the player has to face!

Meh, "worst Bioware game ever"? Nah. Certainly the most divisive, though.
You sure? I still think NWN1 was more divisive. The fuss over ME2 is already dying down.
Though the NWN1 fuss was a little different -- it was about whether some Bio decisions were just plain bad, not about whether Bio was abandoning their traditional fans in favor of some other fans. So the debates didn't have that sense of betrayal.

I second it. If anyone can honestly compare this to Gears of War then they are complete morons.D00MRoar wrote...

Not really, now each party member has a distinct look which is pretty common in RPG's, plus I hated how ME1's gear could be awesome for one person stat wise but look terrible making me want to take it off them.
I think the basic N7 Mods & gun upgrades are better.

Immersion is key to an RPG, not bucket loads of rubbish in an inventory and a stats sheet as long as a football field.
I feel like I'm in a big budget blockbuster movie in this game.

I do believe Bioware made no pretence about the changes they made to the combat system during their many developer interviews and their talks at E3 but you chose to buy it anyway, even though the research was there to be had.
Besides, did you never think that the whole beauty of Mass Effect was the story rather than being as close to an RPG as humanly possible?

Gears of War clone? Are you joking? Gears of war is an intense powerless third person shooter, with wall bouncing and multiplayer. Shut your mouth, or better yet break you keyboard because you couldnt be more wrong. I would destroy you in GOW2, but in ME2... uhh yea.
Funny because as I recall ... ME1 had a cover system too. Does that mean ME1 was also Gears of War with iteractive dialogue?

Thats great! I could hear his voice saying that in my head!
I really love the game, but it is obviously a vast departure from ME1(execution not story). My only real issue WAS that planet scanning, but once I started doing it ONLY when I NEEDED the resources it didnt bother me as much. There is so much this game does right, that its easy for me to gloss over the few errors I encounter.

but I agree with your points OP, ME2 is stripped and "dumbed" down.

The story is more interesting than ME1, as are the characters, the acting is superior, the gameplay is much better, and there is more content available.
You mean Mass Effect 1, right?
If you are saying that Mass Effect 2 is more interesting than 1, etc.
Well, nope.
You are completely wrong.
I don't mean your opinion is wrong, but that you are wrong.

Seriously, to accept this and say its good = dumb. (imo)
It is true, you have to be stupid to accept this as better than the first.
It is equivalent to going to a store one day and getting a candy bar for a buck, then going back the next and getting 1/2 a candy bar for a buck and saying, thank you.

Yes.
Plus an inventory system, a quest that built up correctly, some light rpg elements, interesting characters that you could invest in, and good ambiance.

I agree, which points to another flaw... that all of the characters from the first game, except for garus, are positioned as far away from ME2's main story as is possible without simply making them all dead.
