having to compare ME2 to GOW2 i understand cause of the way you can jump over out of cover was a great feature that bioware has added into the battle system.but saying that ME2 is just another Halo(a game that is clearly over-rated,and that i hate) is not even in ME2's league.i respect your opinion, but the replay value on this game is so massive that i can never compare it to anything!!!! not even SQUARE ENIX can compete even with final fantasy 13 coming out in march(not buying right away ME2 more important) and they have been making crap for rpg games for more then 5 years

This thread and the 50.000.000 other clones of it are pointless, what exactly do you hope the response to a topic thats called "Bioware and/or EA must think we're morons" will be?

You don't exactly set the stage for an adult discussion so yes I do believe this is pure trolling. And if you don't then let me use your own argument "Simply expressing my opinion here".

NOTE: THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION ON ME2. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE IT, DO NOT FILL YOUR TIME WITH TRYING TO PROVE ME WRONG, IT WON'T WORK AND IT BECOMES A FLAME WAR.

I showed up to a gamestop at midnight expecting to get the greatest sequel since sliced bread and instead I ended up bringing a game home that easily made me feel insulted and a little stupid. Die hard ME fans may disagree out loud, but what I am about to say will make sense, whether you want to admit it or not....

ME2 has become a moron-friendly action game. What was once a game that required strategic and critical thinking, has now become campaign mode on Gears of War. The leveling system is a joke and why they even bothered keeping an exp system is beyond me. They had cut so many RPG elements that I seriously believed that buying your skills along with your upgrades would have been a better idea. Not to mention the lack of an inventory, (which might I add, is the first thing I looked for when I could go to the pause menu) and the fact that I get a mission complete should not require a screen to show it like I was playing Devil May Cry. It makes me feel like a hand is guiding you through the game and all you have to do is fire a gun and decide what a good guy or bad guy would say.

I always complained about games and their developers allowing their games to get shot to hell because most of the world wants simple caveman "beat em up and reach the finish line" formats, but not Bioware. Jade Empire, Knights of the Old Republic, all gems in gaming history. (Dont take my word for it, I am sure most have read a game informer or been to Gamespot/IGN) Hell, I gave up on Square-Enix before I gave up on Bioware, and in the end, ME2 is just another Halo.

Have you even beaten the game? Don't come in here and judge a game you have not even beaten. ME2 takes far more strategy and tactics than ME1 ever did. I've died dozens of times more in ME2 than I ever did in ME1.

Thank you, **** yo all i see are complaint threads. Like seriously, just shut up.

If there was a press release saying "No inventory and less skills" I would have indeed rethought my reserving of the game.

Well, whatever they thought, it has worked, ME2 has received numerous perfect scores and has not received less than a 9/10 from any major reviewer, so they have certainly given gamers what they wanted, regardless of what that says about the gamer. Personally I loved ME1, but I find ME2 to be better in just about every way, especially in combat which is much more intense and strategic than the first because the enemies are actually challenging. In the first you hardly had to do anything to survive on insanity outside of being a total idiot.

IGN: ME1 9.4  , ME2 9.6
GS: ME1 8.5, 9.0

those aren't real leaps and bounds.  Seeing how GTA4 scored perfect 10

The basis of the definition of a troll is the intent to generate anger and animosity, with no valued contribution to the initial discussion.

In this case, I think you're the troll.

I have never seen so many troll calling in a forum before. Have we forgotten the basis to a common debate or are we just hell bent on looking like a ****** by posting smartass comments on a forum. It's all "Lawlz, troll alert!!! Everyone tell me how aw3some I am for what I saidz!".

Back on topic. I have been rather disappointed with class balance lately in Bioware games. If they increase the effectiveness of biotic skills, then I'll have almost no problem with the game, because the other parts I can ignore.

Riot, as someone who has been fighting this battle for days I can tell you that no one here cares about logic, your right to your own point of view, or even civil discussion for that matter.

I've tried to be reasonable despite constant personal attacks and insults and I've tried to carefully explain a different point of view to the "fans"...

But in the end all you get is "you are an idiot, ME 2 is a better game in every way, and if you think differently you are a hater and a troll"

Even my masochism has limits lol..

Has been an interesting sociological experiment though.

This post is extremely funny considering all your posts on these boards can be boiled down to "my opinion is right and everyone else is stupid/idiotic/a child/a moron/gay/lame/a fanboy/stupid/stupid/stupid".

I have yet to see a single constructive post by you where you act mature and don't resort to name calling or trying to establish yourself as some supreme intellect.

Then when ANYONE disagrees with you, you turn around and call THEM names and say they are attacking you. You're priceless man.

EXACTLY! :wizard:  Quoted for undeniable truth.

Please give me even one example where I have said a SINGLE derogatory thing about another person for having an opinion that differs from mine.

Every critical thing I've said to other people here his in response to their intolerance for others.  And for the record I have never used any of the inappropriate derogatory terms you listed.

I've stayed with these arguments, quite frankly, because I see evidence that there are a lot of young people posting here that clearly have NO IDEA how to simulataneously disagree with someone and treat them with respect.

I do not pretend to know what deficiencies you've had in your education and socialization, but I had hoped that hashing out a few of these points might turn the lights on for a few of you.

Just so you realize:  This is a conversation about a frickin VIDEO GAME.  It has NO BEARING on ANYTHING IMPORTANT.  There is a lot of really tragic stuff going on in the world now that is much more deserving of your attention than this CRAP.

But many of you really need to learn how to disagree with others and manage to remain civil at the same time.  It is one of the most critical skills you can learn, and it can quite literally save your life.  Many of you seriously do not seem to be capable of this.

It has been fun wasting time on this forum (sadly more fun than playing ME 2 which I had planned to do during these days off) but I hope that something that I posted somewhere here in these past couple days made contact with one or more of you.

Grow up, it's a mean world out there.

Peace.

You're posting your opinion on public forums. This means that you want to have a discussion surrounding your opinion. In a discussion not everyone agrees with you and will offer their own opinions that contradict yours. If you don't want people argueing over your opinion, don't post it.

What do you want people to type in this thread? "Wow nice opinion man!". If you only want to discuss your opinion with those who think similiarly you can easily create a private discussion group somewhere else or communicate via PMs. As long as you're posting on public boards people will always agree/disagree with your opinions. Thats life.

^_^ Thats more like it. A trade of opinions. In actuality I was hoping a developer may come across this thread and take something from it. A discussion in the process is all good.

I just love it when people post an opinion and then ask readers to not disagree. Has this ever worked?

And dude, your post isn't just about your personal tastes... your title plainly indicates that you're trying to draw some inferences about EA, Bioware, and maybe other game players generally. That's certainly open to debate even when your tastes aren't.

I agree with you. People get very heated when they are discussing one of their favorite things and can go a little off of the deep end.

I can honestly say I was disappointed in the game design, I felt like I was almost playing a rail shooter. I'm not sure why they changed the talents, it was much more fun to earn our skills. After all it is their game and many people worked hard on it.

I just wish they would listen to us, their consumers and add patches/fixes to help us get the full experience out of all of their hard work.

Your point? I was simply pointing out that ME2 has been very well-received, moreso than ME1, which itself was very well received. Yes, GTA4 did even better, I think its aggregate score is higher than any other game ever, but how does that detract from ME2's reception?

If I say "I dislike Mass Effect because of features XY and Z". Someone else will post "I like Mass Effect because of features XY and Z". Obviously the two people have opposite opinions and the ENTIRE POINT OF A DISCUSSION is to talk about the reasonings behind the two opinions and prehaps convince one side to either change there minds, see things in a different light, or at the very least understand where the other opinion is comming from.

By saying "THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION ON ME2. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE IT, DO NOT FILL YOUR TIME WITH TRYING TO PROVE ME WRONG, IT WON'T WORK AND IT BECOMES A FLAME WAR."

You are effectively telling people to not disagree with you, ie to not discuss the topic. Maybe thats not the message you want to broadcast, but anyone who sees this thread and reads that will think that.

Edit: And don't take this as some attack on you're thread. I'm just saying what that comes across as.
