Well, this is a slightly different topic. I propose this thread become a place for people not so adept with the character creator to post requests for others better with it to create a character for them. And yes, while there is fun in making it yourself, sometimes you just can't get that look right and despair. Like I do, frequently.

So, I'll throw my hat into the ring with the first request: Would it be possible for someone to make a 'feminine'-ish male elf mage for my use? Or failing that, 'pretty'. I want to go through DA:O the first time with a pretty-boy mage that delights in overabundant use of magic.

The characters are saved in .../My Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/Pre-release Characters, with a .jpg, .xml, .png and a .chr file. I'm not sure if all four are needed, but I assume at least the .chr and .xml are.

I'm seriously trying Vilanch. But with the Jaw/Cheeks and Mouth grayed out when you put a beard on (and the beard taking over those controls) it looks pretty impossible - mainly because the closest beard makes the face too thin.

Yeah. And that's for both Dwarf and Human, though Dwarf is closest (next to last beard, hair 14). So, I could probably get *close*, but the face just wouldn't look right.

Gotta admit this is harder than i thought it would be. Anyway, it's a nice change to try and make it look all feminine. With any of my other elves i aimed for the opposite.
This is my furthest attempt so far. However, it starts to look alien, so i guess this is about as far as it goes

Glad you like it. I'll just do some finetuning (eye spacing too big, chin a little too narrow), then you might have it

The only problem is the CC is likely to mess it up when you copy it to another computer, and open it up in the CC to edit/upload. Unless it uses the first head preset setting. I have also noticed that female elves and perhaps other races either don't save or don't load the eyes setting. When opening existing female elves I have to re-pick the eye type, even if they do use the first head preset.

This will obviously be resolved by the time the final game comes around but there's no getting around it right now, other than sharing slider values.

Hm. That's kind of... strange. Well, making screenshots of each setting screen would alleviate it, I think. That's something to add to any files swapped between people.

I noticed Dalish elves refuse to save correctly and not just the obvious tatoo problem, but never had any problems with elven mages so far - it is true I only made females up until now though.
But the Dalish are a pain in the a** indeed

As for the request, this was the best I was able to come up with social.bioware.com/12817/albums/9702/887,
but I guess everyone has his/her own definition of a "pretty boy" so it'd be a good idea to add a short description of your wishes.

As for me I'm looking for the best approximation of the elven female mage from mage origin wallpaper dragonage.bioware.com/gallery/wallpapers/

That won't do, as the characters get screwed up even with the proper settings, unless you wait for Bioware to sort it out. I gave it another try with the first preset face. This one was quite masculine, so it was harder to do, but it turned out ok i guess. However, it doesn't look much like a girlboy anymore, but a little more mature.
Tell me if you like it, otherwise i'll just screenshot the old settings and you'll have to wait for a fix
