They removed the search earlier this week due to problems the site was having with the Mass Effect 2 launch.
The best way to search the forums, unless they vastly improve the search when they bring it back, is to use google with site:social.bioware.com to limit the results to this site.

Thanks, will do that. Kinda odd considering the gazillion of idiosynratic issues people have with their installs.
