Between the Massive Horrible Event and going on the Suicide Mission, is there any negative consequences in delaying to finish any outstanding missions, unexplored systems, and shopping?
Glancing through the threads, there seems to be people claiming both, that delaying will incease odds/rates of death.

I did not delay so I could be wrong but my crew all lived. People who did said that some of the crew die. Best bet don't do the dead Rearper mission untill you have and have done everything you want.

So it seems that the only thing you should ever do after derelict reaper is Legion's loyalty mission.

Real Logic and actual game mechanics don't always match up.
It's just that I've discovered there's a number of systems that I haven't explored yet and I'm thinking they were uncovered when I bought navigation data and forgot about it. Seems to be a few side missions available.

For the record you can go and do them after the main story ends. Go save your crew and after the credits role you can play again to finish up whatever you want to.

I think if you go immediately to save your crew after they are captured you can rescue most of them. By the time I got there a lot of them had died and the good Doctor is upset with you. If I had known you could play after completing the game I probably wouldn't have waited.

Hmmm. Will do them after the game ends, then. Kinda wanted to do them before, so I'd have a few more upgrades/weapons but oh well.
