I just finished insanity today with an infiltrator, it was freaking awesome. There were challenges for me but it wasn't frustrating like I'm hearing some people say. I used geth shield as my bonus power and seemed to work fine.

Just beat it on insanity with a sentinel.... the tech armor saved me so many times, plus you have overload and warp. (takes out shields and armor)



So if you are a sentinel and take Miranda and Mordin with you... you can take out room-fulls of enemies rather quickly. Miranda to take out shields and barriers (plus your overload) and Mordin to take out armor (plus your warp). Works really well imo.

You should upgrade everything you can. All weapons, because I think it helps your teammates. But if you want to focus, upgrade biotics, submachine guns, and the weapon you chose on the collector base.

Insanity on Adept must be quite hard, especially when dealing withe a bunch huks and scions. Except if you have shockwave... I don't remember if Adepts have that one ?

I'm playing as a soldier right now on insanity and I'm at Horizon. The Archangel mission was death. Main strategy is hardened adrenaline rush + widow as usual. It seems pretty hard, but I haven't tried sentinel yet. The game is manageable as a soldier as long as you're conservative with your cover and don't move up unless you're sure of the threat that lies ahead.

If you are going to use the widow, (which i don't recommend for soldier) you really should be using heightened. It has like 150% damage bonus on it.

What's the best class if you just want to survive and get through the game? Or should I just use my level 25 soldier.

Might as well just start a new soldier if you don't mind playing the same class again. Importing your level 25 soldier would be a very, very bad idea. Seniinel has a bit higher survivability, but not near the late game damage potential.

Wait but if I imported my Soldier wouldn't that mean it would have all the stats of level 25?

probably soldier or infiltrator. both have the ability to snipe, soldiers are tanks and infiltrators have a Panic Button if you get backed into a corner. but i haven't progressed passed Veteran yet so there may be more nuance to Insanity than i'm accounting for.

I've almost finished my insanity play-through with a soldier. It's pretty damn hard at first but it gets easier as you upgrade.

But man I did miss the good old fashioned crouch button...

Well I'm not having an incredible amount of difficulty killing guys in one hit right now (with +100% damage), although perhaps I have some wiggle room since I don't really get knocked down too much in health when I pop out of cover. It's probably just a matter of preference, but then again I usually play maximum-damage builds so maybe I'll change.
