1. Combat: Much improved, hope it stays the same for ME3.
2. Minning: I liked this much more than driving around in the Mako.
3. Upgrades: Loved the idea of mining minerals to make upgrades.
4. Ammo Clips: I liked this. It forced me to switch to another weapon when I ran out ...thought that was realistic.
5. Hacking/Decrypting: I liked this also. It was simple and didnt take much time. I hated ME1's simon mini game.
6. Squad Choices: I liked that you could choose between Samara and Morinth. Id like to see more of these options in ME3....and not just as a Paragon/Renegade type option. Both character choices could be Paragon or Renegade. This would be a great way to select your squad in ME3, choosing between surviving ME1 and ME2 teammates, plus new ME3 squad options.
Dislikes
1. Weapons/Armor: It would be a lot better if we could purchase weapons, and more armor pieces. Hope this changes for ME3
2. Combat scanner: I liked it in ME1, and think its should have been up on HUD.
3. Squad Clothing/Armor Options: Hope there will be more than just 2 in ME3.
4. Id like to see the Eclipse and Blue Sun leaders/founders be a part of the game. At least reference them in the game...not just in the codex.

I also had real problems getting emotionally involved in this game. Most of the characters weren't willing to talk much until their loyalty missions, which don't drop up until halfway through the game. For a game that tries to build itself on its characters, they really don't want us getting to know them. I liked Dragon Age's method better, where characters will talk to you and offer opinions constantly, and when they like you enough, then you get their personal mission. This would've been more believable for me.
Speaking of squad mates, many of them had very few reasons for actually joining you. They all had other things to do, but are willing to just hop along for the ride? Why? Very little explanation in this regard. Similar to how there's very little explanation for why Shep worked for Cerberus. Heck, my Shep was a sole survivor. He would have rather stolen the new Normandy, vented all the Cerberus crew members out the airlock, and done his own thing to save the universe.
All in all, this game seemed very...forced. Despite all the choices you could make in the first game, this one seemed to have a specific story in mind, disregarding the player's intentions or decisions. It really dumbed down RPG aspect, making it far more of a standard shooter. It's not a bad game, but it's nowhere near as immersive or even as good as the first or as Dragon Age was. *sigh* This is what happens when games are made for mass appeal instead of hardcore fans.

. There also seemed to be less of those big choice moments in the game. I'm talking about the choices we had regarding the rachni queen or the Virmire decision which littered the first game. Very rarely did I actually pause to stare at the screen, wondering what was the right course of action. The choices were very basic for the most part.
I agree 100%.

I also concour. I mean there were several times that no matter what option I choice it was the same dailog; however, It still was very important for me to choose the dialog either way. I do like to add though that the interrupt system was actually really cool.
I agree 100%.

The pacing of the missions was much more engaging than Mass Effect 1.
Character interactions felt a bit limited, but I'm not going to compare to Dragon Age. The two games have completely incompatible approaches to the protagonist. I like how conversations were a lot more active, not just with the interrupt, but also with character expressions and mannerisms.
I like the new inventory and upgrades system, but there wasn't enough variety. The game could have also been more generous with credits. After having more cash than I could ever spend in ME1 and DA, it was weird that I kept going bankrupt trying to buy upgrades.
Mostly, I just want Mass Effect 3 to tie up loose ends like the genophage and the quarians.

I can't say it's my fav inventory system ever, but it was servicable, add more choices that impact playstyle and I would be much happier!

Same. I thought the geth mission was great and you could really tell it was a big descision that would affect the future of the game but there should have been much more. ME1 gave us the rachni queen descision, save the council descision, sacrifice a party member descision, and there was more mystery in the story and the world was rich and new. This sequel felt more like a gameplay and technical polish, which it performed admirably but storywise...meh. I did one play through and im thinking of trading it back in to gamestop....which is strange since mass effect 1 I played three times to try out different decisions.

1. Weapons/Armor: It would be a lot better if we could purchase weapons, and more armor pieces. Hope this changes for ME3 --- --- --- Give us more variety. atleast 20 of each weapon type and 10 for each armor slot. For weapons there should be atleast 2-3 major variatios (ie. assault rifle vs battle rifle typeactual gameplay diferentiation) and then the ability to upgrade to more powerful versions of each variation.
2. Combat scanner: I liked it in ME1, and think its should have been up on HUD.
3. Squad Clothing/Armor Options: Hope there will be more than just 2 in ME3.
To expland on my opinion of weapon variation there should be for example
Rifle class:
Assault Rifle T1 - full automatic, high rate of fire, low accuracy, medium damage, low zoom
Assualt Rifle T2 - full automatic, medium rate of fire, low medium accuracy, low zoom, high damge.
Battle Riffle - burst fire, medium accuracy, medium zoom, high damage.
and then have additional versions (a good number of them) of base type that are an improvement over earlier models you picked up. Not just one of each. To keep the inventory manageble, asside from the actual weapon variations (assault vs battle) new, superior versions of each variation could just straight overwrite weaker versions after it is aquired. Or just continue with the slider system currently implemented for armor, when you select assault rifles you can the use the slider to switch between version rather than a massive vertical list out like ME1 had.
