Register the game.  Then http://social.biowar...6/index/4795299 .  "Read first".  Or do you expect help to appear magically?

I think that person's just trolling. He just registered an account and copied verbatim a post from a year ago.

Yesterday I reloaded ME2, and upon clicking "Play" the game loads a black screen and crashes with "Mass Effet 2 has stopped working". It use to work fine, so I had no idea what had changed.

My config:
Windows 7 64-bit
8GB Ram
AMD Athalon 5600+
64GB SSD Boot Drive
500GB Stripped raid set for game install directories

When installing the game I had picked the stripped raid set because that is where I install all my games. During the install I got no error messages or other issues.

1. I just reinstalling the game, NO luck
2. I tried reinstalling the game, and applying patch 1.2. NO luck
3. I tried running the game in Windows XP SP3 compatibility, NO luck
4. I tried reinstalling the game and leaving all the default values, not changing the install directory, and simply using EXPRESS INSTALL option. WORKED

Why changing the install directory or destination drive would cause this issue, I don't know. But as soon as I left all the default install options, it worked fine.

BTW: I have the retail CD copy of the game. Not a download or gold copy or anything like that.
