Got an error message whenever i connect to cerberus network which reads: "Communication with the Mass Effect 2 server was interrupted or has timed out. Please try again later."
you can either open all ports, go into your drivers, or go turn on some windows features (which worked for me), but, I couldn't get into Dragon Age Origins or darn near any other games in game server. Heres a link for another option to try, hope it works for you.

1. Go to Start Menu and open up Computer, once there, open up your hard drive. which currently has windows installed on it. (For most people, that will be C:)
2. If Windows was installed on the hard drive you selected, you will see a folder named Windows, open that up.
3. Now look for the System32 folder, open that up. Now look for the drivers folder and open that. Then at last, the etc folder. The directory should now be something like C:Windows/System32/drivers/etc
4. Inside you will see the hosts file. Open up Notepad which is located in accesories (right click and select Run as Administator if on Vista or Win7)
5. Go to File on Notebook and select Open, now go to the same place shown at No.3. Make sure you have Notepad set to look for all files, you can change this by clicking on the arrow next to Text Documents (*.txt) in the bottom right corner and making that All.
6. Once in that Directory, now you can open up the hosts file with Notepad, once you have done this you now need to delete every line in that file which has the word EA in it and also starts with 127.
7. Save the file and then quit notepad and everything else that I have told you to open in this guide.
You should now be able to use Cerberus.
Happy gaming!

well the problem is this as i figure out when bioware merge its accounts with ea's there is a username password problem accured. you have to clear the old password for bioware account and update it with your ea account password. for this you have to find the "hosts" file in side "windows/sytem32/etc" there are some ip addresses for ea clear em up and the cerberus network will run and there shouldn't be more than 6 files in it on a basic windows install!
P.S: this is for windows vista 64bit
@somejah
thanks for the info btw

I had issues getting Cerberus network to work so I could validate Kasumi dlc, I have a PC and use windows 7 so I hope this will help vista/Xp users some what. Go to control Panel, you should see the search bar in the top right, type: Windows Features, Programs and Features should pop up, select Turn Windows Features on or off, you should see a box blocked it for Microsoft .NET framework 3.5.1 select the plus sign and check the box for both windows communication foundation HTTP Activation and Non-HTTP Activation, press ok and give it a try, hope it works for you like it did me, best of luck.
This solution worked for me!

I bought Mass Effect 2 off of Steam when it came out, got my Cerberus code, created this BioWare Social account and registered it.
Then later I had to reimage (wipe) my computer. When I reinstalled ME2 (on the same computer) after the wipe, I went and downloaded all my DLC, but I can't use it. Now when I start up the game I get this message:
http://img.photobuck...jake/UNABLE.jpg
When I try to enter in my Cerberus code, I get this message:
http://img.photobuck...rowjake/ERR.jpg
The ONLY piece of DLC I can actually play with at this point is the Lair of the Shadow Broker expansion, which I bought separately.
I tried somejah's solution involving the windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts file, but the file had no EA-related entries for me to delete. somejah, you said you have other solutions? Please help!

TCP 42100
TCP Port Range 15200-15300
TCP Port Range 9945-9994
TCP 80
I turned on the "blocklog" on my router and found some blocks above 15300.
So, I changed the second port range on the above list to "TCP Port Range 15200-15350".
Now I can log in to the Cerberus network and use my new DLC(yes, I skipped Overlord earlier, but feel like adding it now). Hopefully this will help someone else.

I once had a small box connected to the internet, which provided me with a webcam and such... this required me to configure some ports to this device... incidentally, some of those are needed by ME2... deleted these rules and now it finally works...
Shoddy work, EA. SHODDY.

My problem was with the conection to cerberus network. Connection timeout error.
I was using TCPOptimizer from speedguide.net, and ME start to work after restoring Windows defaults settings in registry. So if you are using this little bugger program, well... don't. Hope that helps for some
