After I got the error message, I clicked three times in connect. In the third time it asked me for e-mail and password. I entered it and now it is working.

The auto-login never works but as soon as I manually do it it has been fine so far.

Yeah the autologin has stopped working for a while now. Not sure when as I only restarted ME2 recently to finish up my playthroughs. Game will also hang after the first failed login and I need to ctr-alt-del and shut ME2 down and restart. Autologin will fail again and then only can I manually log in. It's not gamebreaking but it's a hassle. Once again legitimate owners of a game are screwed and punished while pirates get to play DRM free.

Just wondering if everyone with the problem has Arrival installed? My problems didn't start straight after installing Arrival but it is the only recent change to my install.

I have Arrival installed and my Auto-login doesn't work either but I can manually login and it works but it can be slightly annoying of having to do that every time.

So what the hell is the work around for this.. Granted its not totally game breaking.. but the annoyance this induces each time I load the game pushes me more and more to just hang it up and stop. Can someone give me some solid info on how to fix this.. not a work around to manually connect but to get my auto connect back up and running for good. Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem since I installed the Arrival DLC. Before this the Auto-Login always worked perfectly for me (and I was just doing another play-through in anticipation of ME3). After installing Arrival the Auto-Login doesn't work anymore. :-(

Please Bioware fix this, because it's extremely annoying!

Ditto, same problem. The only good thing out of this is that the manual login works, and that it's not just me who has the problem. :)

Nothing to do with Arrival I think. I had Arrival installed for ages without this problem. I suspect it's probably to do with the recent bioware site maintenance, or EA servers. I see others have been getting same issue on Dragon Age as well, so not ME specific.

Seeing as none of you can be bothered including a full problem report as detailed in the "Read First" thread, stop complaining here, and complain to EA.
If you want here, read this thread, and post accordingly.

Everyone did include a full problem report, there is just no need to add additional hardware info when it is all about connecting to the servers.

I can't login to my EA account on game startup, neither manually nor auto, what makes my ME2 less worth than a pirate game where I would not experience this problem. I have purchased ALL fu... DLCs and can't play even one.

EDIT: Or maybe it does have something with system spec. I have just got through all topics with this problem and it seems that everyone experiencing has win 7 x64

See, thats what I mean about full problem reports. Vista and Win7 have ECN enabled by default on their networking protocols, and the EA servers dont use it. This is not smoething EA neesd to sort out, as its Windows use of truncated TCP/IP protocols that cause this problem. Other operating systems do not need to use ECN as they dont buggerise around with the protocol.
In order to rectify this, open up a command protmp, and type this in.

netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=disabled

This will disable ECN funcitonality, and allow you to connec to the servers. Note, this will not fix the automatic login problem, that still exists, but it will allow you to connect manually.

Not necessarily.  First, ECN operates at the IP router layer, not HTTP server layer, and is a published Internet standard (RFC 3168).  If ECN is the problem, then it's either EA's router, or your router, that's the source of the problem.  Being an Internet standard, new hardware is supposed to support these things to be standards-compliant.

Further, it's also supposed to be *disabled by default* on Win 7.  Before people go disabling random things they don't understand, try

netsh int tcp show global

This will tell you whether it's enabled for your system or not.  If it's enabled, it's probably your hardware vendor and not MS that activated it.

You have ignored the description of the forum.  It's self-help.  Official support is at EA's Help Site.  We gamers in here have no access to game code to "patch" anything.

When DAO was delayed six months to cobble this abortion of a web site together from amateur quality segments of HTML, or XML, whichever, and I could see the direction that the EA wind was blowing, I already knew better than to trust the site to handle the DLC or expansions dependably, and never expected to waste my time with it.  I had hopes when an "Ultimate" copy of DAO was announced that I could get the added content that way, until I saw that they intended to keep annoying everyone as a priority and forget about serving their customers in favor of milking them.

I didn't buy the Ultimate Edition.  I never log in from the game(s).  I've had rather few problems.  I didn't "need" the bad patches 1.03 and 1.04 for DAO, haven't needed to run any of the games in Vista or Win7 (since WinXP remains the better game playing OS of the three), although I have copies of Win7 (never got any Vista).  Just pointing these things out . .

Had this already disabled. Still no connection @ME2.
Also started comouter with all startups and firewalls turned off withy exception off system stuff and drivers and still no results. It seems its neither system nor firewall problem.

It is NOT an "ECN" issue... Or at least it's not an issue on the servers EA/BioWare wide. The Dragon Age authentication servers managed to get auto-logon working after about a month of having to do it manually this Summer.  (Interestingly, for most of that time the ME2/Cerberus network ones were working fine.  Then ME2 started failing to allow automagic log-on as well.  About a week later, DA began working again...?)

So while it is definitely an on-going problem, it has ZERO to do with the player's set-up, hardware, OS, or anything we should change at our end, and everything to do with someone at EA fixing the problem.
