As soon as Ash expressed doubt about Shep's intentions with Cerberus and dismissed everything he said, I broomed her fast.I'm tired of everyone second guessing my Shep, just like that blind citadel council who still won't listen to me.

This.  And I disregarded her email.  And I hope I can rub it in her face that I was right come ME3.

Never cared for the email ether, it had an opposite effect on me of what was intended, only adding another nail in the coffin. They felt rushed and egotistical, just there as a ditch effort  to save the the "romance". It would have made sense, if they had talked on a private line instead of getting an email that could have been critiqued and written by a third party. Seems Bioware added the letters late in development, because they clearly had better alternates.

Man I was so bored with my ME 1 romances I was glad to cheat on them! I dropped Liara once she turn out to be crazy, kissed Miranda, had a rough and tumble with Jack, got turned down by Samara and ended up with Tali after sowing my oats. 2 years is long time to go without anything...

My other play through I did the same to Ashley with only a slight twinge of guilt once I got her email. But whatever, Garrus and Tali have stood by my side and they probably stand the most to lose from it.

After flat out calling Shep a traitor and essentially telling him that she'd rather see him dead and slandered than alive and on the bounce -if morally ambiguous- yes, I "cheated" on her.

Of all the ME1 characters to appear, only Garrus, Wrex and Tali were actually happy to see Shep. What really did it for me?

"I wish my friends could see this. I wish Shepard were here."

Tali is ten times the woman and Hero than Ash will ever be.

"Did you cheat?"

That's kind of a strange question.

*I* played the game with several characters. *They* all had different LIs.

However, my main, and the only toon I really care about or plan to import into ME3, was and is in love with Kaidan and respects his distrust of Cerberus even if it makes her sad. She's looking forward to the day she can say 'screw you' to TIM and walk away to find Kaidan again.

I had kind of thought BioWare was totally wrong in their assessment that the rather 2-dimensional LIs of ME2 were going to be pulling people away from the ME1 LIs in droves (Hudson's interview: 'most people will cheat'? really man?), but in reading the posts here, I see I was mistaken.

Nah my Commander Shepard is the batman of my game. Romances makes the Shep WEAK!!! (for my Paragon play through)

Shepard, the person, however tends to be the playboy/playgirl.

I only cheated on Ashley in my Insanity playthrough. The game was stressful, so I romanced Tali to relieve it. Probably my lucky charm there: survived the suicide mission with no player deaths.

Other than that, no, I remained faithful.

I love telling this story.

I didn't romance anyone in ME1, no cutscene, no almost kiss- nothing but in ME2, Kaiden went all huggy and insisting the date with the doctor was SO not serious and stuff, I ended up with a "boyfriend" anyway.

In ME2, I would get drunk with Garrus, **tch about the Alliance with Jacob, and talk Philosophy with Thane. They all were buddies and have promised me they will give Kaiden a tough time if he rejoins. Because that is what your male buddies do. It is like a rule or something.

No. None of the ME2 LIs were even half as appealing to me as Kaidan.

Main Shepard has no romance, she has better things to do.

Another stayed loyal to Kaidan.

My only male Shep romanced Ash in the first game and I "cheated"(however strong or loosely you wanna use the word) and did the Tali romance to see what the big fuss was about. It was ok.

Halfway through a faithful romance for Ash.

Did Thane's and Garrus' romance with my main Shep to see them, they were both ok too.

My first Shepard didn't have any romance in ME, then came ME2 and Thane was too good to resist. My second Shepard did have a fling with Kaidan then cheated on him with Thane, again.

Kaidan couldn't handle a woman like Shepard. Thane FTW.

My third Shepard still had a fling with Kaidan and ended up with Garrus. Why not? He's been the most loyal ever!

So now, Thane or Garrus? Decisions, decisions. :P

I had several Shepards to import and I think only one had romanced Kaidan in the first game. But honestly how can it be cheating when he clearly states he's moved on?

Renegade Sarah needs no love interests, her emotional needs are satisfied with the blood of her enemies.

Paragon Kevin, on the other hand, nailed Ash in ME1 and then got treated like dirt when they met again on Horizon. Kevin proceeded to get in Miranda's pants ASAP.

This is just sloppy programming.

Oh good rule!

/not really

I really wonder how you got those buddies? I got Jacob as far as 'friend' but the other 2 not so much. Or did you do the 'romance' bits and call it differently?

/doesn't get it

AND! Kaidan says, if you're the same woman. IF! What is up with that? Too much drama. It wasn't cheating, it was moving on.

Did I cheat? Totally...I only picked first Liara, then Kaidan, in ME1, because it was something to do...when I found out I could romance Garrus in ME2, I jumped at the chance. I'm currently replaying ME1 for the sole purpose of romancing no one and having a Garrus-faithful Shepard.

If, as in "If you aren't a clone," or "If you haven't been brainwashed," or "If you aren't a clever bit of plastic surgery on a total stranger".  It's not his fault Anderson didn't tell him you were fine.

That said, my paragade fell for Thane and my renegade is going to relieve some stress with Garrus.  My paragon is still pining.

you were pretty much forced into relationships in ME1, If you talked with Ashley or Liara and were nice to them, that was considered love. With this in mind and the fact that Liara is basically a shell of a person in ME2 I didn't really care about "cheating" at all. The only reason she was apparently my "love" anyway was because Ashley & Liara both confronted me when I didn't even know I was in a relationship with them and I said "can't I have you both". I'd be pissed if this somehow has a big effect on ME3 because Liara doesn't even know what jealousy is and has no personality anymore.

LOL The first thing he does is just hold her? Where's the kiss? I mean, he says he loves her but no kiss? I was half expecting a tackle hug. The anger I could understand, that was to be expected but the whole, if you're the same person. No. He should have been the one, out of the entire crew, he should have known better. He should have known it was Shepard.

Dang nabbit. He didn't know it was her and that hurt. Garrus knew, Tali knew. Not Kaidan. :D

For all my ME1 characters with romances, I simply saved at a point in the game before making the choice between the old or new romance, then played to two separate endings staying faithful, or finding new love.

Never, and never tempted to. There are no other LIs as far as I'm concerned - only Ash.
