In comparison to the ones who are content with the game, the majority that not only post here but on other forums are not happy with the result of ME2. Hopefully Bioware will take note that alienating their existing fanbase to "bring in players that didn't play the original", in other words, shooter fans, is not a smart move, whether it's from an ethics standpoint or business.
Not smart from a bussiness view? You don't think Bioware did hours of research? It's very nieve of you to think Bioware won't make a **** ton of money
This game is awesome. It's just sad some people are retards at shooters so they say the game sucks.
Just because people spend time ****ing on the web doesn't mean this game hasn't been received well.

Droll droll droll...
Yadda yadda yadda....
its common knowledge that 80% of game players never even frequent forums UNLESS they have a tech problem....
So given that...and the sales figures...most people would argue with your opening post .....

Yup, same here. I'm not thrilled with SOME of the changes, but I just hope a middle ground (ME3: Balance) can be struck now that Mass Effect has such a (likely) reliable sales base.

Actually, it doesn't look like the majority of posters aren't happy. I'm not sure it's even the majority of posts, and a lot of the unhappy posts are from the same few people. I'd start naming names, but you know them as well as I do.

And these same names in every single negative thread by other people.
Do the math, huge majority negative, small minority positive.
Besides, if game was half as good as they say, they would be playing it still (their own logic) then coming to boards to try and start flame wars in upteen dozens of threads.
Common sence for the win

I still don't understand what people are crying about. I loved the first game, and I love this one as well. If anything, the streamlining of Mass Effect kept the RPG elements I enjoyed, while removing a lot of the micro-managing that usually goes with RPGs. I'm glad I don't have to waste time finding new armor and 5-gun arsenals for every single party member. I know that's been a staple of the genre for a very long time, but many of the RPG elements as we know them are lifted directly from the old Japanese-style RPGs, and those things have been stagnant for over a decade, offering little to no evolution. I'm not saying some of them aren't excellent, most recently Lost Odyssey was a fantastic game. But they aren't bringing anything new to the table.

And still PLAYERS scores average at about 9.4-9.5
So STFU About majority negative.

Why choose? I'm playing ME2 while posting. Oh, and common sense would be closer to actually looking at the customer reviews and seeing that the vast majority are 9s and 10s, not just pulling vague figures about vast majorities out of the air.

But after some playtime I found ME2's dialogue to be just as sharp. My only niggle is that sometimes it kind of guides you into a good/indifferent or bad/indifferent choice, which is kinda pointless.

Maybe because the people who love the game are busy playing it, rather than complaining on these forums.
I definitely have my list of "dings" and complaints about ME2 but, on the whole, it's a great game and I thought BW did a great job with it. Most people who come to the forums are seeking help with certain issues, so of course there are probably more complaints. If you're not having a problem, you're probably playing the game. Simple.

Although I'm enjoying ME2, and find the combat system to be far more fun the dialogue and interactions at first to me seemed not as good as the original. But then I realised this was because you look back at ME1 with rose-coloured glasses and big it up in your mind. Also you become quite attached to your original squad in ME1.
But after some playtime I found ME2's dialogue to be just as sharp. My only niggle is that sometimes it kind of guides you into a good/indifferent or bad/indifferent choice, which is kinda pointless.
Yup, its not perfect, but the bashers are just being silly at this point.

You can't be serious. It's the negative posters that keep coming back again and again. Including, um, you.
