 Im paragon and I usually pick the top option but sometimes for no reason i get renegade points even when I havent done anything bad.

Wait til you play as a renegade you talk to your crew mates and you'll get paragon points.

It's not a problem. It's called realism.

Well, you don't LOSE renegade/paragon for going up the other side, so it's not a huge problem.

Bah...dont get me started with that mess. I tried to paly pretty renegade, finished with 100% ren, but still managed to get a whoppin 50% paragon as well.

I dont think all of the para/ren choices are split up in top bottom like in ME1. Sure, the obvious blue/red still are, but the rest seem to be placed wherever, almost as if bioware wants you to actually CHOOSE what you want to say, instead of just relying on the top/bottom mechanic from ME1

I got around 25% Renegade and never even saw the renegade points on the side except for one moment that gave me 7 renegade.
