guys i have the solution and it works 10000000% promise so this is what you have to do<br />
<br />
Locate AddIns.xml in "C:/Users/(Username)/Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/Settings" and edit it using WordPad or any XML editor. Replace all RequiresAuthorization="1" with RequiresAuthorization="0".<br />
<br />
Run the game and check to see if everything worked!<br />
<br />
<br />
if it worked say it here so that the others can see that it worked

For those running DA in Mac, I found the file in my Documents section, but I didn't do a standard install, so it may be in Application Support. I'll supply both locations below.
-- Macintosh HD / Users / [username] / Documents / BioWare / Dragon Age / Settings
-- Macintosh HD / Users / [username] / Library / Application Support / BioWare / Dragon Age / Settings

A question for the DRM designers: What are these constant checks for? Are you expecting that our legally purchased copy of the game is going to *become* pirated? If you really must continue this idiotic practice, how about a "benefit of the doubt" grace period -- if the authorization servers are down, let people play for a day or two before you lock them out. We've authenticated this content over and over and over again -- maybe that ought to buy us a bit of credibility when we claim that we're not stealing it? Enough to let us at least play the game we bought, while you fix whatever happened on your end.

Has there been any official word?
I was finally able to play my game by just logging out of my account in game, but it is still annoying.

Again, not sure of the ramifications of disabling this parameter, but it sure worked for me (after I replaced ALL occurrences

BUT------------*************BIG BUT************-------------------
-You still cannot load any special expansion equipment like blood dragon armor and certains items from the quests.
-Some of my characters are missing items.
-My main character is missing his helmet and weapon.
-I'm afraid if I play some and resave, after EA's servers come back online, my stuff will be gone for good
-I don't recommend this fix

Well, I spoke too soon: yes, I can load the game now, but my main character's armour (obtained on Soldier's Peak) has vanished. So it's not really a solution.Yes, the AddIns.xml fix (I just searched for it with Spotlight, on the Mac) worked for me, too! Thanks for that. (And thanks for nothing, BioWare and EA.)
GRRAH! Totally unacceptable. I hope everyone expressing their frustration here is also submitting a support request? They should at least see that customers are not all right with this nonsense.

I rejoice for you, but I'm also running on Mac OS X, and this is definitely not the case for me.myyrdneopia wrote...
I double checked everything on my save games, I still have my armor and weapons from Soldier's Peak, as well as Shale and all that jazz. The Blood Dragon armor is still there, and everything is showing up on my map. I'm not sure if this is because I am running DA:O on Mac OS X, or something else. =/

Why do I bother to pay for games and content when they pirates get to not go through all this?!
They busted my rear end on DAII, alos. When I went to play it at midnight when it launched, it made me wait till midnight in a difrent time zone!
And now this...

I would advise against it. It suggests the aforementioned Addins.xml edit which just re-enables your savegame with no DLC, and the second step just tells you to DELETE all your DLC trusting that Dragon Age will re-enable it properly. I deleted it, redownloaded it all (manually, because it wouldn't work in-game this time), and it still didn't work.
Here we have a classic example of DRM done wrong. Why couldn't BioWare just use Steamworks like every other respectable PC game?
