I'm not sure who to romance. Jack is a really interesting LI, but Miranda's more "stable".
Who did you romance of these two and what are your thoughts?

Neither, stay true to ME1 LI and hope Bio can create characters you feel emotion for in ME3.

At best Jack and Miranda nothing more then one night stands for kicks

No thank you. The new LIs are MUCH more interesting (even Tali), and after seeing Liara I completely lost interest in her

After seeing ME1's LIs it looks like I was right about THEM being a one night stand

The paragon version of Jack's romance is probably one of the most touching moments in game. I don't know, but i always considered Miranda more like a "just to blow-off steam" option, just for fun, no real love, so to speak.

Somehow I get the feeling that in ME3 Jack will try to end the romance like she's trying now, but I think Miranda's more "stable" and "loving"

But, I think I like Jack more (opposites attract)

LOL, im serious, I have no emotional connection to any of my ME2 crewmates or Love interests, none!

and thats after getting snubbed by Liara and Ashley earlier in game.

I thought (going in) combat was going to be my big complaint about this game, turns out I can live with the combat (its not rocket science as some board trolls like to make out, but its not end of world either), my complaint is I simply dont care about any of my squadmates?

At this point in time, having finished all the loyalty quests (failing 2 appearently) I have more connection to Kelly then any other female character (Tali included but to be honest Tali as a LI just make me feel ewwwww, kinda pediphile like, just to young because of ME1 personality memories).

Miranda and Jack the type of girls you pick up in a bar, have a fun night but dont bring home to mom!

Thats really the extent of my personal emotional connection to them and honestly I think thats a big failing with ME2. With all their focus on shooter dynamics, they forgot about character development!

Miranda. If you find someone even better in ME3 and cheat on Jack, she'll cut your face off. Not worth the risk.

I did.  Jack just seemed to hostile to me.  At first you get the feeling that Miranda is just in it for some action, but by the end, especially if you "paragonize" her during the final mission, it seems like you actually have something...at least that's what I think.  Hopefully ME3 will allow you to further explore your ME2 romances rather than just giving them a cameo and an e-mail.

Funny, I think the exact same thing about ME1's characters, while the exact opposite about ME2's characters

Doubtful, this is BioWare we're talking about. They're infamous for making little to no consiquences

I wouldn't put the blame on BioWare because that's "what they do."  Think about how ridiculously complex it is going to be to try and create a final game based on decision in ME2.  The whole suicide mission-factor changes everything.  I don't expect to see your ME2 characters and LI in anything other than a cameo in ME3.  It would just be logistically impossible otherwise.

How exactly do you find a relationship in a video game? The best I can think of is to relate your personailities and interests with that of one of the characters. Yes? I can do this with Miranda. How exactly do you relate?

Miranda is a Cerberus who*e (working lady as many are refered to) and Jack is a psycologically unstable... need I go on? Sure they make good crew mates most of the time but there are so much better.

Jack. *Small spoiler* If you turn her down on the renegade romance option, and wait, her romance is surprisingly touching.

Well first you have to be secure in your own mascalinity to feel emotion!

But to give you a serious answer: A good writer can draw a person in and make them emotionally invested in characters in relatively short times.

ME2 had moments like this where emotion played a role (Miranda with sister, Thane with son) but for the most part in ME2 you simnply looking in from the outside, not connected to the story really.

In ME1 the characters asked you your opinion and your opinion furthered (or stopped) the relationship from growing. In ME2 you simply listen to (say Miranda) Miranda rant about father and then save sister. At no time do your veiws become important to the storyline. You dont grow the relationship at all, you just listen and then take her to bed basically.

But even beyond that, anouther thing missing in ME2 that hurts character development is the lack of interaction between squad mates when out in the feild. The little comments and quirks that made you understand the charaters better and see how they feel.

I really wanted to hear Mordin and Grunt go at it, Tali/Gaurrus go at it with Cerberus crew, I wanted Tali or Miranda or Jack to fight for my love like Leilianna and Morrigan did or Handmaiden and Vistra did or Liara and Ashley did. All the conflicts were set up and ready to go that would have grown the squads personalities 10 fold, instead they stayed quiet and shot their guns.

Thats the best I can explain it, In DA:O, by the end of it, I WANTED to have a relationship with Leilianna. It mattered to me that after I killed the dragon we stayed togather in the final logs. She was my Love Interest for that story and it needed conclussion and a happy ending. In KotOR I hated Bastilla originally but as I got to know here and influence her I grew to care about her so when it came down to the end, I battled to keep her, it mattered.

Or on flip side, how many posts you see about how the Morrigan Love Story ripped the heart outta so many players with how it played out!

They were emotionally involved with the character!

I just cant say the same about the characters in ME2, I havent influenced them, I havent really talked with them, got to know them, grown with them. Im simply a outsider looking in on their story for the most part.
