I suppose whether you regard what happens with Kelly as a true romance or a fling depends on how you approach it. I personally treat it as an actual romance in the playthrough where I pursue it. My femshep isn't involved with anyone else, and genuinely likes and is attracted to Kelly.

I guess it boils down to player motive, since in the end what your Shepard thinks/feels is what the player believes he or she thinks/feels. If you think it's a meaningless fling, then it is. If you think it's a genuine romance, it is.

My hope though is that in ME3, whatever you did with Kelly isn't ignored. I don't care that she isn't a squadmate, if you did the deed with her you did the deed, and that should count for something. I personally think that it would be a very careless oversight on BioWare's part if it's brushed aside altogether.

Kelly also seems to go for FemShep. Still working on that play-thru but same flirting is going on as was with ManShep.

Yes she does. tbh I think Kelly would go with just about anything, after all she says she loves all species and doesn't bother hiding her flirting Image IPB

Agreed, she got a degree in psychology 'cause she missed doing the mind-meld thing and it was the closest substitute for humans.

The cuddling on the bed scene only comes after the game, and (obviously) only if you save her at that.

Kelly is rediculously sweet, and I hope she plays a bigger role in ME3.

Does romancing Kelly count toward the Paramour achievement?

I got the impression Kelly was put in the game so you can pseudo-romance at least someone during ME2 while remaining loyal to their ME1 love.
That way you can still get some action even if you want to remain true to Kaiden/Ashley/Liara. I think it's a neat feature. Prolly won't carry as a LI into ME3 for that very reason imo.

We had dinner and I got her to feed my fish and I saved her and my entire crew, still no dance for my FemShep[smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/sad.png[/smilie] I guess she'll just have to save herself for Liara in ME3.

Is there a fem/fem love scene in this game? I've googled and it looks like you don't even get a fem/asari love scene this time? One story on Faux News is enough to make them chicken out? Or is there some other reason? Or have I been misinformed?

How did you save her, when i did it she was turned into goo. Do you have to go through the relay straight away?

Yup, straight away. The longer you wait equals in more crew dying until you will only be able to save Dr Chavez.

I wasn't in a romance as I want to carry things on with Liara in ME3, I even had the clip where Shep looks at her picture before fighting the collectors.

I went for the crew as soon as they were kidnapped. Does destroying the base against the Illusive Man's wishes make a difference?

From what I can tell so far (working on 3rd play thru) destroying base at end doesn't affect post game. probably just set up for ME3... having TIM pissed at you or not. Still trying for that lap dance from Kelly!

I did everything right for Kelly, with female shepard, Dinner, talk, let her feed my fish, saved the whole crew, and No email or dance. After the credits, she thanks me for saving her, but no email.

I posted this elsewhere, but since search capabilities on the forums leave a bit to be desired, I thought I'd post this in a couple spots:
Spoiler Alert: How to "Romance" Yeoman Kelly Chambers

There are three different types of relationships you can have with Yeoman Chambers: professional, friendly, and flirty.  The moments with her up in the cabin after the credits are meant to be a bit of an Easter egg, and only happen if you are being flirty with her and get to know her well.  You need to do the following:
1.  Talk with her. When she says she knew she could trust you, say that you would do more than catch her.
2.  After a mission, talk to her again.  She’ll ask you if she was being too flirty.  Tell her you liked it.  It’s dangerous to flirt with your boss, and if she ever feels you are offended by her over-friendliness, she’ll play it safe and switch to being professional and just keep doing her job.  It’s not paragon or renegade to flirt with her.  She’s just attracted to complements and openness, and is not attracted to rudeness and intense seriousness.
3.  Talk with her after any acquisition mission or main plot story moment.  Flirt with her and say nice things.  Don’t ever say “Be professional”, cause she will be.
4.  If she is attracted enough to you, you will get the option to invite her up to your cabin for a meal. You need to take this option. I believe this can happen after the Collector Ship mission or acquiring Samara, and I think maybe another spot or two? This happens if you are just having a friendly relationship with her as well. What actually happens that evening during that fade from black?  Well, that depends on what your Shepard is like and is up to your own imagination to fill in.  Did you talk all night?  Play chess?  Watch some vids?  Give each other massages?  More?  Just know that she’s a pretty open-minded gal.
5.  You’ll need to ask her if she is into aliens.  This option only comes up during her comments about Tali or Thane.  This is when she lets you know (indirectly) that she is bi-sexual.  If you acquire Tali or Thane after she is gone, she’ll still comment on them after the credits if they live through the end game.  (and yes, this is a little obscure.  Easter egg, remember?)
6.  Obviously, save her during the suicide mission.  This is done by going through the Omega 4 relay immediately after the crew is taken.  The queue to the goo is short, and Kelly is in the front of the line.  She doesn’t have time.
7.   Talk to her after the end game.  Ask her if she is OK.  This is important, because you only get one only option to do that.  You can’t ask her later.   She needs to get the ordeal off her chest right then and there before she can be back to her flirty self.
8.  Don’t have an active love interest.  You can never have one, have one but get them killed in the suicide mission, or dump your current love interest.
9.  Leave and return to the Normandy (or save and load).  You’ll get a private message from Kelly.  Read it.
10. Go up to your cabin.  The terminal next to your private console will be selectable and say “Invite Kelly Up”.
Does doing this with Kelly count as cheating on your ME1 love interest?  Kelly’s a free spirit, and as such can be more of a bed buddy, hence why “romancing” her doesn’t turn down the picture frame on your desk, or get in the way of your romancing any of the main ME2 love interests.  Will this affect anything in ME3?  Well, we haven’t made the game yet, but the fact that you had Kelly up to your cabin is in your save game.
