It was tricky.. took like 10 minutes for me to figure that one out.. you have to keep moving the pieces around to make the flames jump from the starting corner to the opposite corner.. the direction of the pieces mark the direction towards which the flame will jump.. just spend some time moving stuff around, you'll get it.. sorry I didnt take a SS :(

Do the little circles at the edges play any part in solving this puzzle? or nix

It is more the way the arrows point as that is the way the flame will go.

It helps if you can scroll back to a bird's-eye view. Generally speaking the flame will run along the upper right and down the right-hand side.

Am I the only one who thought that taking fire damage when the tiles get too close and having to listen to the little girl's chatter was a bit TOO much realism? Maybe it's part of the challenge... annoying distractions to ruin your concentration etc.

It's pretty easy. The pattern i intuitively took was that of a swastika without 2 of its arms, in other words, with a line right through the middle that points towards the door. From my experience that works pretty quickly.

I think there are a few solutions. I've done it 3 times and I know the last two were different, at least in terms of where the empty square ended up.

I begin to see, I have been trying to snuff out the flames completely so there is no flame at all, sort of put out the fire rather than run it along different lines.

It helps to work backwards, also. At least, it does if you're me. If you work from the end, it usually cuts the solve time in half.
