Hey Guys at Bioware/EA:
Onn the whole, the game is awesome, so far. Graphics are spectacular, storyline iis ingaging, Miranda is an absolute hottie. I like the combat dynamics too, much improved over ME1. I do like the game, overall.
Having said all that above, I have an issue w/ the Hacking/Bypassing mini-games. In ME1, the decryption system was much easier for me. For most people, I'm gueessing, this is not an issue, but I'm disabled, and can't move my mouse (trackball in my case) fast enough to"Bypass" locked doors or wall safes. The act of matching symbols wouldn't be that much of a problem, if the symbol you clicked on first would stay on until you have clicked a second symbol, but the first symbol only stays on for about 1 second, the it goes out and you need to start over. Now I can't get through getting the Krogan to join up, because of a locked door that I can't bypass due to this problem. In ME1, we could just use Omni-gell for this, but there is no Omni-gell anymore, I guess. I wish you wouldn't have done away w/ that, it was helpful, in a bind.
Is there any work-around for this Bypass/Hacking issue? I need to get my Krogan to continue w/ the storyline, and I just can't get through this door.
A complaint about gameplay in ME2

I know at some point you can purchase an upgrade that gives you double the bypass time. Now im not sure if that effects the time the first symbol stays active after you first click it or if it just gives you double the over-all time to get it done before failing the whole thing. I have not purchased the skill yet, but might be worth a try.
Also, I am a little surprised Bioware didnt think of this during QA. They must not have any disabled people working in that department, or anyone with slow reaction time. Would be nice if the time the icon was active was increased a tiny bit. Even half a second each would suffice for most anyone having an issue with this. Sometimes my cordless mouse lags and I miss them too. Be sure to save before each minigame if possible.
As far as hacking, its done with the keyboard. Shouldnt be too much issue there.

Alas, if I was a tester for Bioware, (at one time I was a software tester) I wouldn't have approved it the way it is...

i agree with viper.... what about us with slow reaction times ... this sucks.....i cant get thru to the krogan and some important storyline areas needing to bypass the locked doors.. bioware should not have removed the omni-gel alternative choice for the said game type.... anyways will try to see if someone would be so nice to find a solution for the the minigame...

Hehe, I didn't even notice there was a time restraint till I botched up one of the hacks xD A little more time wouldn't hurt, especially for the pairs that are located on opposite sides of the circuit board, which get tricky to click on if your going fast (my point-and-click skills are a bit nooby)
The "Complete the Code" hacks took a while for me to work out (I know, I should read the manual, but who does that?! I just wanna play the game!)
But I'm really enjoying this game! BioWare you make the best games in the genre! Both Dragon Age and Mass Effect are awesome!

bioware do make good games and i love mass effect, but i have to be honest their minigames, riddles and puzzles really do get my back up! the timers on the circuit links are borked not enough time to do it and not enough time to move between circuits and to have areas where you HAVE to do this to progress was just sheer insanity. to the original poster (SPOILER) theres more of em you have to do past that krogen to progress later in the game...
