I managed to retrain my follower powers once (switching from Zaeed's inferno grenade to Jacob's Barrier), and ever since it's stopped working. Is this a one time only deal?

It'll still let me purchase the upgrade, it even registers as a tech upgrade for the purpose of the achievement, but it'll never let me select another power. Am I doing something wrong?

Looks like I'm stuck with the fairly useless barrier... :|
