Is the "Leviathan of Dis" a reaper or something else completely different?
It's supposedly organic. So no, not a reaper.
I read on the wiki that the Leviathan of Dis was a reference to the 'Farscape' series (there are massive organic starships called leviathans on it). This could mean that the leviathan was just an easter egg and nothing more (a.k.a it will be forgotten about in ME3). Then again we can never be certain, maybe the leviathan will return in ME3 and we will have to fight the Batarians for it.
Prepare for immediate Starburst!
Although I could totally see that. John Crichton is one of the few individuals I could see actually standing a chance against the Reapers. Now that was a world-ender done right. No deus ex machina there, the wormhole technology had been played up and gotten more important over the course of three seasons (a little over, but it didn't show up until the end of the first season). When he finally uses it, you know it is going to be huge. It was mostly the fact that he didn't want to use it, since the thing had the potential to wipe out the galaxy, and more. The Reapers wouldn't stand a chance.
