I am sort of tooting my own horn I guess but i am just super excited that without help, without any advance knowledge whatsoever I was able to make the right choices and the right personnel decisions to keep everyone (including my crew) alive on my first attempt without retry.

I was so damn scared when I was having to choose who did what though!

Who else made it through on the first try?

I am uber excited to see who all I can kill now though!

I'm not trying to burst your bubble or offend you in any way; but I honestly felt like my hand was being held when it came to making decisions about who did what during the final mission and during the journey there. They not only told you what was needed for each role but gave you descriptions of each character on the selection screen. I would have prefered if they didn't do either. Then you would have to truely be a leader and decide based on what you know about your team just through playing the game.

It was too easy to figure out which person(s) was best for what job, imho.

Except what is shown on screen is not always the correct and obvious choice.  For example, sending Tali into the tubes can get her killed even though she's a tech expert.

I made it through the combat without dying on insanity the first time :P

But I did lose Mordin, apparently because I chose not to take the risk of rescuing Chakwas etc.

But look, if you lose someone, that's part of YOUR story and your canon. You accept it and incorporate it. I think losing someone actually makes the experience better, instead of gunning for some silly achievement :P

Yep, through it on the first try.

I didn't want any of my team to die, and it didn't have anything to do with the achievement. They were my people, and I had to get them through.

Made it through with everyone + crew alive on my first playthrough, but the crew part was sheer luck as i had no idea you have to continue the main quest immediately after they are taken otherwise they die, i just happened to play it that way (did everything before finishing the main quest).

Took me 36 hours and i thought i did everything. Only made it to level 28 though, which has me wondering what i did actually miss. I imported a lvl 50 character from ME1 (so started ME2 at lvl 4), explored every planet, did every quest etc..

I tried to keep everyone alive too kegin, I'm just taking a friendly shot at people who redid the mission to keep everyone alive instead of accepting their screwups as part of the story :)

Same for me, I saved the crew purely by luck.  I had no idea they'd die if you didn't go right away (hell, I thought they'd be dead anyway).

However, it took me about 46 hours, and I was level 30 I think either before I went through the relay, or immediately after.  Started at level 5 from an imported 60.  So you might have missed something somewhere, although I have no idea what.

Can you remember how many star charts there are to buy? I bought the 3 that were available from the terminal at Illium, i'm thinking perhaps there is another system or two to explore.

I think what I'm going to do on some save in the future is not upgrade the ship at all until right before I go through the relay, so I can have a save to work off of where I can...err...sacrifice certain teammates so I can both experience the losses and have endgame saves for ME3 where some of the team will be gone.

Although I don't know if I could ever get myself to kill off Tali.  Even watching her get vaporized on youtube was a gut-wrenching experience.

I believe I purchased four star charts from that terminal.  I didn't find it until pretty late in the game.  So maybe there's a chance that the fourth one unlocks at a certain point, and I just lucked-out?

I imported a saved game from ME1, made her an Engineer.
Did it on the easiest level, because I'm not suicidal.
Survived my first run through with my team is alive and well.

On the first split I put Garrus in charge of the fire team, on the second split I put Miranda in charge.  I had Tali go through the ventilation shaft to open the doors.

I had Mordin and Tali accompany me for the final fight.  Great fight at the end.  Just creepy enough to make you go "Oh CRAP!"

Now I'm going to run through on different classes see how it goes. I'll be upping the difficulty too.  Though if easy was this hard, I can't fathom how nasty Insanity will be.

I'm playing insanity with a soldier now, and it's real nasty.

Imported Level 60 character, stayed an Adept.

First playthorugh finished yesterday. I had the whole galaxy at 100% , even bought a few star charts so I think I got almost every sidequest done. Did all ship upgrades and all loyalty missions.

I saved my crew, my whole Squad and myself and almost at the End advanced to level 30 (only ONE playthrough - without cheats, of course).

Kept the station intact for humani...eh...everybodies sake :D

In order to lose people, you actually have to make a choice to either not complete all of the content, or to ****** of one or more characters for the sake of RP.

Other then that, if people die, it's because you made silly choices.

No, that's not true. I completed all the characters sidequests and didn't ****** off anyone but for some reason Mordin still died. Next playthrough I'm going to upgrade all the weapons, that has to be the only thing that did it.

Me and a friend lost Kelly on the first try. We waited for too long and finished some quests before starting the mission. Bad choice. On the 2nd try everyone survived.

Everyone made it, but it was certainly pulse-pounding.

Legion to the vents. Thought about Tali, but I'd feel bad losing my little sister from ME1. Besides, I hadn't had Legion for very long. It was like, if you want a place in this crew, Geth, show me what you've got!

Garrus leading both fire teams. They said "someone who inspires with experience", and Garrus and I go back to the first game! Was tempted to give Jacob the second one (what if Garrus is tired? And Jacob did volunteer!)

After I noticed the vents I tried to move quickly through the rest of the level, in case there were hidden timers.

Mordin back with the crew, who all made it. I wanted him to make it to cure the genophage by ME3.

Samarra for the biotic barrier. And I freaked out when she started to get tired. (Which begs the question, how come you're just having one biotic do this when you have lots of squad members with some biotic ability?) Her wave of biotic Justicar's wrath at the end was pretty awesome, though.

Shepherd, Grunt, and Miranda confront the end. And Grunt almost fell off the platform, but Shepherd reached out and saved him. Which probably should've made Shepherd's arm rip out of its socket, since Grunt probably weighs a ton in his armor, but I like to think as an adept Shepherd uses a little biotic assist.

Definitely an intense experience. And Miranda "the Loyalist" Lawson, my LI, 'the Cheerleader' herself, leaving Cerebrus was the biggest "boo-ya" moment I've had in a video game since I was named a living Paragon.

I had everyone loyal but apparently took too long to co through the relay because I lost Kelly Chambers, she was the only one but made me sad as I'd flirted with her a little in the beginning. I also lost Thane at the very beginning, he was the guy I sent through the duct work because I was like heck, this is perfect work for him, guess I was wrong.

Everyone made it through on my first play through (including the crew). I had all upgrades, everyone was loyal, and I used common sense when picking my specialists and team leaders during the end game.

Edit: Oh, and I went through the Omega 4 relay immediately after the IFF and Legion's loyality quest.

I lost two people and half the crew but otherwise, first try I succeeded.
