The first time through, I played right after Lothering with the party I was using then: PC, Alistair, Morrigan and Dog. I enjoyed it, and all the character involvement very much. On my second playthrough (which I'm about 1/3 into), I loaded a save from right after the Conner situation was resolved, but before the Urn. At this point, I'm level 9 insteal of 7 and I have Wynne. So good! Much more character dialogue between Alistair and Wynne, better comments from Alistair... There's just more. And I'm still not so high in level as to make it a walk in the park. Those magic users can be a real problem if you don't take them out fast enough.
Another thing that I really liked about starting from the end of Redcliffe, is that there was the cutscene with Anora, Howe and Loghain talking about Orais and Cailen's death right before the opening scene to RtO when you get the quest. It makes a very cinematic tie in having one cutscene leading into another, as well as reminding us of the events of Ostagar, Cailen's death, and Loghain's feelings about Orlais as we move into the quest. Perfect timing....
Best point to play RtO?
