Thoughts on royal heirs

After playing RtO, I have to wonder if there will be in the future another problem with no one in direct line of succession for the throne. A letter shows that it was thought that Anora may be infirtle (although, presumably, it could have been Cailan). Let's assume for the moment that Anora can't have kids. We also know (from David Gaider's comments), that Gray Wardens have a harder time having kids, and two Gray Wardens cannot have kids together.
Possible endings:
Male Noble PC marries Anora--no kids
Anora rules alone--no kids
Female Noble PC and Allistair--no kids
Allistair marries Anora--no kids
Allistair rules alone--?
Anyone know what the ending is if Allistair rules alone? Does he marry someone else? Any other ending possibilities I'm not thinking of? I am wondering if this is being set up for an expansion or sequel.

But no, there is no mention of royal children.

Fiona mentions in the Calling that a Grey Warden Conceiving is ridiculously rare. So maybe Al+Warden OR Al rules alone and marries someone not Anora

I was under the impression it is not impossible for 2 Grey Wardens to have kids, but very very very very very difficult.

Mr Gaider came out and said it was naturally impossible for two Grey Wardens to have kids together, ever, at all. Then he went on to say some stuff about magic to appease those who were slightly heartbroken that their PC and Allistair couldn't have babies.
Edit: Though MY Fereldan will be ruled through future generations by half Elven, half Cousland illegitimates. Zevran was finally good for something.

More interesting, the mage, of whom I can not remember his name in Warden's Keep talked about magic to eliminate the taint from Grey wardens....so there's kind of a form of conception aid. For Grey Wardens at least.
Won't help ol' Anora though.

Hmm...nevermind my last post then. I can only assume the magic will help Anora...unless it is taint specific.

The game gives us a couple possibilities to circumvent them, including if the PC had any Andraste's ashes left over or the mage from Warden's Keep. I think, however, in-game it will be assumed that GW and GW will never have a child.

I think if magic could cure that sort of thing they'd have got a Mage in a bit sooner to make sure Anora popped out a couple of kids for Cailan, given how utterly vital Eamon's letter to him makes the issues of heirs sound. Given how the lack of an heir caused a civil war, anyway, I'm really just guessing now.

Heh. Good point there. Unless the chantry/ something involving the universal "OMGIHATEMAGES" got in the way. Though they could have used a mage in a not very...public way. meh.

Yeah, I really don't think that'd be a public thing.

Sorry, couldn't resist
