Pocketgb wrote...

-Helmet toggle: possible for both platforms
-Hint turn-off
-More sensitivity settings
-PC List:
---Weapon hotkeys
---Menu hotkeys
---Mouse-wheel functionality

All things that don't really require much "fixing", rather that would make for a bit of a smoother experience.

Don't forget the inability to double-click

1. Remove the damn "help" pop-ups

2. At least give the option to hotkey journal, weapons etc.

3. As advertised in the game codex, make the ammo universal between all small weapons.

4. Faster planet scanning

5. Remove the damn "help" pop-ups!!!!

6. Remove the concept of fuel for the Normandy, it just feels clumsy and tacked on.

Add in some 2 to 3 new weapons in each type (except heavy weapons) at least.. Add in new armor pieces with wider varying benefits outside a mild increasement in damage, health, shields.. Rebalancing of some skills namely biotics in making abilities like push and pull more attractive of a option for the main character. Rework cryo ammo and attack.. It sounds great on paper, but the only time you REALLY need it is against the harder guys.. Ammo like incidanry to me is much better, not only does it effect the guys Cryo does.. But it works well against armor as well..

Most of what I would want patched, can't be simply patched.

- Inventory.

- Inventory accessible from the in-game menu.

- Weapon and armor mods, in place of static "upgrades". This includes specialized ammo. Whoever decided specialized ammo should be a "power" limited to specific classes should be slapped. It's f***ing ammo. It loads into and fires from the same weapons, folks.

- Weapon and armor accessible and customizeable from the inventory.

- The ability to purchase any mod from available manufacturers, over being forced to mine lifeless planets for materials from space. Leave the probe-to-research sh** for upgrades to the ship. Bring back the mod system for weapons and armor. It doesn't make any sense to "research" mods that were widely available in the first game. That's like "researching" cough medicine when you could just pick it up over the counter. Re-tar-ded.

- Power stacking. Sure as hell better (and more tactical) than waiting for ALL powers to cool down. This game may as well be a turn-based without power stacking. Frustrating as hell, especially for Adepts.

- Helmet toggle.

Before I played ME2, I was under the impression the new Research Terminal would enable players to customize their gear to an even greater extent than in ME1, but as it turns out it's just a mineral exchange for static updrades with no customizeability. Talk about taking two steps back.

Add autosave before face creator, or allow editing of face within tutorial:

After confirmation of our character at the beginning, when we get in-game our Shepards face often does not turn out the way it appeared in the face creator. This leads players to restart the whole game again & again to make edits, just like in ME1. There is currently no way to re-access the face creator besides starting a new game and going through the 12 minutes+ unskippable opening again, even just to make one small change.

In my thread here: http://social.biowar...03/index/931077 , where I've kicked off a tiny campagin to have this addressed, I have suggested some solutions as simple as just creating an autosave before the face creator, so we can use our identity codes to make repeated tweaks.

It's really painful having to go back through the intro 3 or 4 times to make tiny changes. Something has to be done!

I can't see them patching in weapon mods as that would take a lot of redesigning of the static upgrades and abilities. I guess they just wanted to get rid of the inventory system completely because it was a **** to navigate on consoles. Quite frankly, it was rather sloppy on the PC too, but it at least made weapons more versatile and added a major element of RPG to the game.

Anyway, minor things that I can see being patched in are the shortcuts to the journal and squad menu. Shouldn't be hard at all to implement. It's not a huge deal for me though, but I was definitely surprised when I saw that they had removed the binds.

Most importantly, a fix for the freaking levitation bug that gets me stuck all the time. How did they not come across this before launch is beyond me, but whatever. That should be a priority in the first patch they make.

And yes, I agree that helmet toggling for the N7 armor would be feasible. I personally could care less about the DLC armors since I don't like any of them.

The inventory in ME1 was actually rather intelligently designed. Streamlining the interface would have been better than scrapping it alltogether. Now players are forced to probe planets for predefined "upgrades" from a terminal on the Normandy. Where's the reward in that? And the fact they call it a "Research" Terminal makes it even more a joke. What the f*** is there to research? I could find these so-called "upgrades" scattered all over in ME1. Not only that, I could combine them with other mods for different effects, any time and anywhere I please.

Mass Effect 2 is just as awesome as the first one, I love it Image IPB
Regarding improvements on the PC though:
  • Where did the key bindings go from Mass Effect 1? Image IPB Option to set key bindings for weapons, journal etc.
  • Run/Cover/Use in one button? No thanks, individual buttons please!
  • Ability to set a team member's default weapon
  • Fix bugginess with clicking and moving commands on the quickbar while paused
  • Give us some visual cue as to how our team members' health and shields are doing during combat, it's annoying to have to pause constantly to check up on them.
  • Helmet toggle
[/list]

Actual bug fix - Conrad Verner. I talked him out of trying to be a Spectre, I never punched him, but he acts like I went Renegade on him.

Also there is a missile base mission where you have to choose to save the spaceport or the settlement, but it ends up choosing the opposite of what you choose. Whoops.

These are strictly UI complaints, with nothing to say about game design (inventory, helmet display)

- Normandy mode: left-click zoom in, right-click zoom out. It was good in ME1. It absolutely sucks in ME2.
- For the love, mouse-wheel please.
- For the love, double-clicks. Oddly enough, you CAN doubleclick on a planet in normandy view...why is this the only place?
- Improve scanner sweep speed in planet probing mode. At first the sensitivity is fine when simply viewing the planet, but then I start scanning and I feel like I'm powersanding my desk.
- Whose decision was it to get rid of the hotkeys to journal and codex? I barely use them because they're so annoying to access and use. No hotkey to journal, no mousewheel to scroll to the item I want, no double click to expand an item to see sub-tasks. You've got to be kidding.
- Combat mode: mouseover on your weapon expands weapon-selection menu on top of your squad's weapons. Turbo-annoying.
- Furthermore, if you accidentally click a weapon of yours after the icon is slipped underneath your cursor, you CANNOT ABORT IT?! Neither clicking back on your current weapon or clicking an ability do anything. You're locked into that weapon switch. Awesome.

So yeah, this is one of the best games I've ever played in terms of content and mechanics, but playing it is an absolute task at times. I already bought it for PC and I own no consoles, so I'm basically never buying a bioware game again if PC users are going to get the short end of the stick like this. Sad day for me.
