Ok so i finished my first playthrough and gotta say im a little dispointed and confused.  I for one didnt like the ending, killing the "human reaper" was to easy and tottally thought i was going to have to kill Harvinger or the leader i think thats his name.  Killing Saren in the first one was much more satisfying since your chasing him down the whole game and you finally get to eliminate him.  The end video for ME1 was a 1000x better than ME2, i can still remember coming out from under the rubble when everybody thought Shephard was dead.  The storyline kind of fell apart i think.  The whole game was just to get your crew and make them loyal. i wish there was more "missions" they all seemed like side missions and the main story of dealing with the collectors was extremely short, we only encoutered them a couple of times before passing through the omega relay.  Theres gotta be some people who agree with me.

I am confused how some squad members died. i know some people had everybody to live, Garrus died in mine i sent him as the "tech" and i dont understand where i went wrong.  I gained his loyalty and thought we were buds but i guess not lol.  Also Legion died from a blast from one of those ocular things that were chasing the normandy around after passing throught the relay, i dont get why he did.  He was one of the cooler charectors and had way to short of a role in the game.  Zaeed died thank god, that guy was a dbag im pretty sure he died because i wanted to save the workers at the factory on his side mission and he didnt like that i wasnt gonna let innocent people die, god i hated him i put him in charge of the strike team both times hoping he would die and figured he had atleast experience to lead the team.  Jack also died, but im pretty sure it was because i didnt have enough paragon points to resolve the conflict with her and mirando peacefully, and obviously took Mirandas side because i wanted to get in her pants.  And Kelly Chambers the assistant died, i enjoyed the connection i had with her and dont undertand at all why she died.  I kind of regret not blowing the base up and handing it to cerberus as does most of the remaining crew.  Kind of curious to see what happens in the final game with that.

Also one last thing that i was upset with, it seemed like the game promised alot of connections between the ME1 and ME2 but i was very disapointed and kind of hope/think the decisions made in the first two games all will come back in the final game.  Heres what i can think of that i wished came into play or hope will in the next game.....

-The love interest in the first had almost no role in ME2, i really thought Ashley was going to come back into play some how, but after Horizon she was 100% absent.
-Saving the Rachni queen, i was contacted in Illium i think it was but an Asari talking for the queen saying they were gonna help me.  I thought they would but thinking they will in the final.
One thing i did enjoy was running into less important charectors from the first game like Harkin and that undercover agent i dont remember her name, i do give them credit for that.
I thought i had more i cant think of them right now and this post is long enought lol, sorry for the length and thanks for reading if you made it this far, lemme know what you think, thanks!

Garrus died because he sucks at tech. The doors jammed because he didn't know what he was doing. Him being loyal isn't enough.

Legion died because you didn't upgrade the Normandy properly. You must have missed something.

Zaeed died because he can't lead the 2nd assault team. You can still get him perfectly loyal even after saving the innocents on his quest.

Kelly died because you must have done some side quests after the crew was abducted. If you went straight through the relay after they were abducted you would have saved her and Donnely and the others.

Not sure about Jack, depends on where she died in the mission.

The 3 things you need to make sure nobody dies from Normandy explosions are the shields, armor plating, and new cannon.  Make sure to talk to your crewmates and ask them about upgrades so that these will be available.

While I thought the last boss fight was silly, it was very brief (thank you M-920).

I could not disagree more on the ending video thing- escaping from the exploding/soon to be 'pulsed' station was incredible, and Harbinger's talk was pretty great as well. And then there's the look you get at the ocean of Reaper ships.

Just so ya know, Tali gives you the shielding, Jacob the armor, and I think the gun is from Garrus.

I thought the rubble thing and fake "death" were stupid in ME1. The actual ending was much better in ME2.

Shielding sounds likely.

My feelings about the ending?  Best damn cliffhanger ending ever.  ME 1 ending sort of confused me.

I lost talli at the first door and i lost the crew because i did not sent anyone to protect them.

Other than that things went well for me at the end.

I liked the final mission in me2 and i agree the boss battle in the end of me1 is more satisfying. me2's boss battle had that wow factor and kelly dying was the point in the game where I realized how grim this game really is. Also jack was the only person who died for me and that was right at the begining when that laser thing hit and I was pissed she was easily my fav character in the game.

I had fully upgraded the ship and it was great to see it pay of.

I destroyed the collector ship with ease.

And it felt great.

It was great i killed the counsell and put humans in charge and a lot of the aliens in the game were realy pissed of about that.

And seeing old favorites again was great.

I thought the boss battle at the end was so much better than some Frog-bot. This thing scared the sh*t outta me. And I thought someone on my team was gonna die so many times... I almost sent Legion through the vents for tech, but chose Tali instead... it worked. Dunno if it would with Legion. I have a save just before I jump through the Omega-4 Relay, since I'm trying a bunch of different methods, with all upgrades, I think. I chose Garrus and Miranda as Fire Squard leaders, and chose Zaeed to lead the Normandy's crew back to the ship.  Everyone lived that way... scared they wouldn't though.

Also... I never had to switch discs... umwhat? Did anyone else have this happen? Should I switch to see after-end content? Or were the forum leaders misinformed about disc swap?

I love this game!

That being said, i wish there was more to the final mission. I mean, I know that it's supposed to be a quick, get in get out, don't die type mission, but it was just too short. There didn't seem to be much to it. It was cool to have the whole choose who goes where and does what, especially having a biotic spread out that field around the squad (which was definitely large enough for the whole team if you ask me) but i dunno. When i thought of this huge assault on the collector base, I was expecting to feel like it was hopeless. But everything was working out perfectly and the resistence just seemed to be too small. I wanted to feel like I was fighting an endless swarm. Of course they couldn't really do that though, because they gave us ammo and barely any at that! still bitter about that. I liked the unlimited ammo on me 1. They even had a perfect explanation for it.

A lil bit but were you not pissed he or she dumped for no reason. No other game had hit me that way before and that is what makes the mass effect series great cause it makes you feel like it is your life and your decisions. This is the most advanced game out there and there is nothing else that is even close.

The cutscenes that showed why you needed to upgrade your ship seemed to be crammed together just to throw it in there. I would have liked to see a longer animation of the normandy fighting for its life and seeing the shields take a real beating.

This might be just me, but also, you have the weight of the galaxy resting on this one lone attack force that has been branded a suicide mission... so do we try to increase the chances of this suicide squad? nope, we just send them in blindly on their own. I would have thought it'd be cool to have cereberus send in some expendable forces to help assist you in various parts of the final battle so it would actually feel like a planned assault, not a band of superheroes smashing their way through the compound with relative ease. That could have made for some cool dialogue on the comm channel throughout the mission as well.

Im not taking anything away from the game, it truly was an amazing game. Im just in awe about how much more they could have done tho. But i think i figured it out. The main point of this game was to set you up for the final game. Im willing to bet that you will keep most of your surviving crew members and all of your decisions from the first to games will all come back in the last. I think you could be leading an immense army from the Rachni you saved to the Geth that you allied with. Everybody that you helped in the past will assist us in taking out the Reapers which will attack, i think thats clear from the ending vid.
