I wouldn't mind ME3 taking awhile to come out if it means BioWare is taking the time to have Shepard's story end with a bang. Hopefully it'll be significantly longer than the first two as well, but we'll see.
Damn, I'm ready for ME3, GAHHH!!!!

Take your time Bioware, I would rather wait 3 years for an epic climax than wait 2 years for a disappointing culmination after everything that's been built up.
However, I would love to see more ME lore on the way to ME3...more novels, maybe even comics(prefer novels though), maybe a side-story game that ISN'T a phone game. Also, I really hope the ME series continues past ME3, but staying Mature to prevent it from being all commercialized. The day I see Mass Effect Burger King toys is the day I lose interest.

well im pretty sure casey hudson said that they plan to have 2 years worth of DLC like DA:O so they probably won't release ME3 while ME2 DLC is still rolling out. My guess is 2012. Only about 730 days left guys!
They only have the two year time frame for DA:O. They've just been saying "significant" DLC for ME2.
If anyone's listened to the Giant Bomb podcast with Casey Hudson, he said that it's challenging to make DLC for ME, so I doubt we'll get 2 years worth. My guess would be that we'll see DLC over the next 2 - 6 months and then they'll focus all their efforts on ME3.
I also don't think it'll be as long a wait for ME3. They listened to the fans after ME1 and changed a lot of stuff for ME2, so they probably don't have much revamping to do. A little tweaking here and there. Holiday 2011 would be my guess (Bioware would have TOR in the beginning of the year and ME3 at the end).

I would expect it in 2011-12 I'd say holiday season 2011.

I expect the first real mention/teaser will show up late 2011 and we'll see a release late 2012.

However long it takes, it'll be worth it to see Shepard call in all the favours he's owed and launch a fleet against the Mechathulhu Collective. Rachni, quarians, krogans, Legion's geth faction... did I miss anyone?

Even if there are games after ME3 I personally don't know if I would play them, because sheperd is the hero of the galaxy and after defeating the reapers anything else would seem a bit... pointless? Just my opinionBrahlis wrote...
What will I do when ME3 is over?
Wait for the next game, because Mass Effect is a franchise and not a mere trilogy.

don't know about that but supposedly bioware has got some big stuff coming in e3 so it could be a ME3 trailer.
