(1) More options to customize what goes on the screen, - do not just hide important info and displays in the .   Make it possible so users can customize the info in front of them on the screen.   Simply hiding important battle info in a menu is just stupid and a huge failure in ME2.

(2) Give more status info generally, for example:  when you go to the weapons locker, you can't see how much heavy weapon ammo remains.   Why can't you post useful numbers where people can see?   There is generally really poor information posting in ME2.

(3) Eliminate unnecessary keystroking or mousing.   WTF is wrong with the "private" computer when you have to, in addition to selecting an option, then press a separate "select" button?   That is so stupid.   Also by nesting menus behind keystrokes or clicks you end up making things less organized, not more.   If you want to order items, do it in a flat list form:  place path cues on a long list rather than actually create separte menus for things.   For example, like color coded tabs on a long list of items which tells you what organizational category the info belongs to.
Then make them sortable to whatever the code is, or more simply presort the tabs.  For example, on the "upgrades list", you could sort them out, instead of alphabetically, by some organizational insight in their function, using a colored tab so people can quickly see what upgrades in what category they have.   Maybe secondarily you could sort alphabetically, but try to put some order in visually first, so people don't have to either hunt through menus or just be innudated by a long list with no order except alphabetic nonsense.

(4) Reintroduce hotkeys for weapon switching, the whole menu is annoying and really constipates the game.

(5) Fix auto-cover, - it only works with some objects.   Better yet, eliminate it and reintroduce crouch.   Design the game so you can jump, - why is everything so simplistic and linear?

(6) Why do ordinance packs work in some missions and not others?   Apparently some mission programming doesnt check armor fittings and others do.   Its a ridiculous inconsistency.

So many people seem to dislike that Mass Effect 2 is "RPG lite". From the crictics, to the gamers. However, Mass Effect wasn't ever RPG heavy. It was more of a balance of 3rd person action/shooter with RPG narrative, characters, level system, and customization. Customization however, has taken a back seat in Mass Effect 2. The cluttered inventory system from Mass Effect 1 has been scratched altogether in the sequel. My suggestion? Allow weapon customization, and more armor customization. In Mass Effect 1, guns had slots for upgrades to be equipped just as the armor did. In Mass Effect 3 we should have 1 upgrade slot for all guns, and armor.

To further the customization, we should have more options in changing our "Captains Cabin". With Mass Effect 2, we are able to buy fish, model ships, and a space hamster for our Captains Cabin. In Mass Effect 3, it should take it a step forward by being able to buy art, furniture, plants, lava lamps etc etc. Which would add more customization, and thererfor adding a little bit more of RPG elements. I honestly have not seen a single person suggest this idea. I take full credit in it

Back to the subject of weapons and armor; there needs to be more of them. Not to the extreme like Mass Effect 1 where there was Colossus V, Colossus IX, Colossus X etc etc. Instead there needs to be a balance. I don't think Mass Effect 3 should have the looting system, in part because that might slow the pace of the game down a bit. I was very surprised that we cannot buy ANY guns from ANY shops in Mass Effect 2. None whatsoever.

I would also like to see more in squad interactions (like quite a few other people on the forum). I got that recipe for the cook (Garner), but I can't eat the wonderful new food with any of my squad members? I want to hear more comments between my squad members. Thats the only thing that was good about the elevator rides in Mass Effect 1.

Onto side missions. The environments are more varied on side planets in ME2 than in ME1, but there is nothing Shepard or you're squadmates say about the side quests. In Mass Effect 1, you and you're squadmates would make a few comments about a few sidequests. ME3 needs more dialogue with side quests.

In Mass Effect 2, were only allowed to gain exp until after we beat a mission. We should at least be able to gain exp for defeating Heavy Mechs, Scions, etc.

More armor, to include all the "top" classics and plenty new versions.

classic I.E. Colossus, Predator H X, Phantom, Rage
Returning I.E. Repaired Archangel armor.
Wishlist I.E. Asari Commando armor.

They could all be incorporated into the scan and forget storage process much like the weapons.

They could either be bought, found and or created.

The "top" quality armors sets would have higher stats bonuses when worn together.

Squad mates could also wear armor.(that's probably going to be limited by shepards customization mechanic but atleast some armor with "stat" bonuses and more than 2 sets.)

Toggle helmet returns.

Bioware is that too much to ask for?

Already mentioned before but biotic powers really need to be back to what they once were. This is a unique game play mechanic that was introduced in ME1 and you can't really find anywhere else until it was mutilated in ME2. Turned into a cheap rip off of the Most Wanted game mechanic sans bullets and replaced with Magic Missile which is what warp is.

I rather have Warp do 1/4 the damage but have the ability to toss around enemies even if it is for little damage. Biotics are controllers. They should be able to set up enemies for you and your squad to kill. They aren't magic bullet shooting machines.

Getting rid of Global cool downs ties with this as well. I rather have longer cool downs than the current system. Before If I used a power I could still use others and I was mindful of which ones I used. In ME2 if you use any power you are left for seconds without any means to advance except for your short ranged pistol and SMG.

Well I have quite a few issues but i'm going to play the game a few more times. But I will talk about the world and atmosphere, beware there are some (quite minor) spoilers.

What happened to all the Hanar? You don't talk to any. :( Sure we found out a bit about their race but there was none to talk to, only a line from the radio (but Blasto is pure awesome so you can almost forgive). On the same note, what about the presidium?? I was really looking forward to exploring it and to see how it changed from ME1, the citadel was one of my favourite things about ME1 and it was a shame it was much less foccused on this time around. The Zakera wards were great though. And I thought we would see the aliens move around more now? I mean you see an elcor move around from a window but that's about it. I hope in ME3 we can see keepers, drell, batarians, quarians, hanar, elcor, krogan, turians, asairi, salarians, new aliens, etc. moving around together in order for the universe to seem much more alive and deep.

It was soooo annoying to get emails from people like Doctor Michell (I think?) asking for you to see them and you never could.

I really appreciated how the asairi got a lot of depth and focus in ME2 with us being able to go to Illium, and I loved hearing all the NPC conversations. Same with the krogans, quarians and geth (even the salarians a bit). I really hope we can visit Kajhe (the hanar homeworld, not quite sure if I got the spelling right), a water world filled with Hanar and Drell would be simply awesome. :D

I was also dissapointed that as a maleshep we got like 3 conversations with Garrus. The conversations we did have and his loyalty mission were great IMO, and I really appreciated it when he finally did talk about turians. I hope if he returns in ME3 that he gets much more lines, aswell as if we could visit the turian homeworld.

Seeing earth and a salarian world would really be icing on the cake.

The mission structure seemed a bit too formalitc at first, it was either kill everything, or go to a hub world and do side quests before killing everything again. In hindsight, it's not that much different from ME1 but it is all the more apparent in ME2. Maybe the lack of the MAKO to split things up... then again I hated the MAKO...

Towards the end it gets much better as the quests become more interesting and unique.

And the have one conversation, then get asked to go on a mission thing was a bit random, but I can understand why it was implimented for the sake of passing. It was only really annoying with Garrus for me.

Overall a great, but very different game. :) I've list a few of the more jarring problems that I had, but problems that maybe only I had an issue with. Once I play the game some more i'll try and get some better feedback. :)

-Expand on the current weapon upgrade system where you upgrade individual weapons rather then the whole class

- Space battles

- Hanar squad member, with a gun in every tentacle!

1) A ground vehicle, more armor, and weapons.

2) If Shepard doesn't return, have the option to play as a new character from the alien races.

3) Have the option at the end to join the Reapers and enslave the human race.

Putting the "I had the idea first!" arguement aside, facts are facts, there is a thread stickied at the top of the forums.  I"ve noticed that the entire last week has just been about bumping the thread without really any discussion so I'm going to close the thread, Feel free to migrate some of your posts if you want to center discussion in the sticky about a particular idea. :)
