Does anyone know how to stop the walking though air effect when making a gap between 2 sides of land, as in a bridge with a ravean/moat under it?

IMO i think its to deep into the code itself ive found alot of gaps in the mesh of the game itself where you can just walk through gaps and you can just walk forever on air . but i have noticed this might help you if the ground is relativly close .it tends to want to pull you down to the ground . so if your ravine is deep maybe try and bring just the land under the bridge up highter but leave the rest deep . thats if im understanding you right that is

Work with collision walls and make sure there are no green dots unbounded by red in your walkmesh. It's takes some tweaking and playtesting (in the mindset of a player who likes to bump into things), but it is possible to seal all those places up.
