ok so i knwo a lot of people have complained about the planet mining. a lot of people hate...a lot of people like it.

i hate it. its mind numbinly boring....and absolutely required.

but thats not what im going to talk about here. what im going to describe here is why it doesnt make ANY sense.

none at all....its completely and utterly rediculous.

so bioware is telling us that we can roll up to some planet...and in its description the codex will tell us how its got 20 or so mining corporations on because its so rich in platinum (or whatever).

so thats the set up...a ton of mining facilities on this planet from a bunch of corporations....entire settlements built up around mining this planet.

and here i come and in a few (presumably) in game hours i have completely depleted every worthwhile mineral on the whole planet??????

wtf??

if i can do it...why cant these multi billion credit mining corporations whos business it is do that??? why is there a settlement with mining facilities on it if you can just launch a  probe from orbit???


freaking stupid.

and a horrible horrible game mechanic that makes my eyes bleed.

and every time i see that scanner i feel the need to listen to "unknown pleasures"
