So yeah, I'be beaten Mass Effect a number of times now. 3 separate characters, all finishing right up to the end. Now, when I went to import the guys into Mass Effect 2, it simply won't show up. So I was like, "Well, that's interesting" and went to find the problem. I've done some trouble shooting and found that the problem is this: Mass Effect never saves me finishing the game.

The auto save at the final boss fight is there, but there's nothing after that. Is there any way to fix this? I've already disabled Read Ony on the game folders in C:\\. The save files all work, they just never save me finishing the game. It will be fairly simple for me to simply plow through the final fight 3 times, since I have high level characters, but I've done it with one of my guys like six times now and it's still not saving. Either way, it's getting pretty annoying.

If it helps, I'm running the Steam versions of ME and ME2 on 64 bit Windows 7.

i had this theres a post with the solution burried away in the forums somewhere, you need to import your ME1 saves via the configuration options on the launcher, when you log into the game your files from ME1 should show ready for import, i too went mad at first had 4 me1 saves i wanted to continue with!

How would I go about saving after the game, I get to the final screen and then the game simply goes back to the main menu after I see my character doing that weird "I'm not staring at you, but I am" thing in front of the space station...

Are there any known solutions to this? Playing ME2 now with a completely new character, but I'd like to continue on with my other character's stories if at all possible.
