[Edit]
After some experimenting in game, I found that Adrenaline rush increases weapon damage to compensate for a lack of increase in weapon speed. This makes Adrenaline rush much better than Assasin cloak and makes the soldier the handsdown best class in the game.
[/Edit]

Is it just me or does Adrenaline rush not speed up the rate of fire for assault rifles?
Also, it doesn't seem to speedup reloading your weapon either.

It's still a really fun ability but I'm somewhat dissapointed that it isn't a dps boost.

Well what i noticed about Adrenaline rush is that it makes slow motion, and it also makes your weapons do extra damage by what i seen.

It makes your weapons do extra damage? That would be cool if true.

I haven't noticed the extra damage but then I almost always fire with Adrenaline Rush on.

Can anyone else confirm that Adrenaline Rush increases weapon damage?

I just confirmed that Adrenaline Rush does increase weapon damage.

That instead of keeping your weapon's attack speed up while during "bullet time," the devs decided to just give you a damage boost to compensate. I think the damage boost is equal to the "time dilation" of AR (but I'm not sure how to test this).

If this is correct, then Heightened Adrenaline Rush is the most overpowered ability in the game.

It's kind of a shame really because (again IF this is correct) it utterly puts Assassin Cloak to shame. Soldiers become the best snipers and the only advantage Infiltrators get is the "get out of jail free" component of Tactical Cloak.

I used the DDE version Sniper Rifle (the one that fires 3 shots at once) so didn't really notice.  Now that I think about it, it didn't seem to speed up my machine gun so I guess that does make sense.  I used Hardened Adrenaline Rush for the health damage mitigation.

The main difference between Soldiers and Infiltrators is that the latter has the ability to snipe without being shot at.  Soliders might do more damage overall, but they're taking fire while doing so.  Infiltrators can do it without taking a single hit.

Thane pretty much trumps Soldiers though with all the damage modifier boosts he can get.  Sadly, Infiltrators don't get the same.

Good point. Also Infiltrator can use cloak to get out of a jam.
Still, the fact that you AR slows time with all weapons and doesn't get cancelled after the first shot makes it significantly superior to tactical cloak in my opinion. I find my self "sniping" with my assault rifle, that's how powerful AR is.

The thing I noticed about Adrenaline Rushe is the Shepard moves too fast for his gun.

He can hit an assault rifle to pop out the heat sink and there'd be a one second delay.

He can also storm and get into cover before an enemy hits the ground.(This is when I said "Holy ****, I am frickin' fast"

He must look like a blur to everyone else.

It does increase damage, Hardened increases your damage by 100% but also decreases all damage done to your health by 50%. Hardened is best for automatic weapons because it doesn't slow time as much as Heigthened allowing you to get more shots in, and it makes you harder to kill.

Heightened increases your damage by 140% but also slows down time more than Hardened, making it better for slow-firing weapons like the Widow.

I'm on the fence about AR. It's a really cool ability, but I think Bioware could have spent a bit more effort in balancing it out with the rest of the class skills in the game. Currently it's verging on broken. I mean, I love Singularity and all, but being able to slow down time while simultaneously boosting your damage resistance, and attack damage, with a 3 sec cooldown? Let's just give the Adept Biotic Wtfpwnage instead of singularity, where you cast it an every opponent on screen takes 90% damage and falls over.

I never really thought it seemed OP, but while I was playing a soldier I didn't realise that it did bonus damage so...

Adrenaline rush doesn't last long enough to be all that effective.

It's also a brilliant defensive ability. Caught in a bad spot? (think pinned down by husks at the end of the Reaper IFF mission, or fighting the Preatorian) You can book it out of there and be in cover before the enemies (or their bullets) can catch up with you.

I use AR on every CD as a soldier... Don't know if it's the most powerful but its the one I use the most as Soldier.

With the Revenant light-machine gun, on any difficulty other than Insanity, Adreneline Rish cuts through all regular enemies before it wares off. Seriously, it's the best skill in the game.

It's also useful if you get into trouble and need to make a tactical retreat.

I guess they wanted to give Soldier's a cool ability this time around. It is still really awesome though that Bioware added bullet time, even though only two classes use it.

I like AR, but has anyone else noticed a tendency for the scope to follow moving enemies on it's own while in AR? like you click the AR, line up a headshot, and some random grunt runs across the bottom of the screen and your crosshairs pull away. it gets really annoying because you actually have to pull against it to compensate.

*and I did not mean to gravedig here. posted without looking at the dates after seeing this on a google link.
