And I would like a patch too, particularly if this rogue/dagger/dex bug is legitimate. Or if it isn't a bug I want a manual addendum that says "Dex does not modify dagger damage and rogues are just gimpy warriors who can lockpick"

Anyway, patch 1.02 has been announced for release very soon, and they are already planning what fixes to deal with for patch 1.03.
We might see both before christmas.

You don't need super high dex to be a good rogue, and for a serious fighting rogue you want to be strength based anyway (you can easily have very high strength and dex to max all your talents). Also you still want a dagger in your offhand, because of some of the ones that have great backstab bonuses.
For a strength based rogue, the dagger "FIX" will actually LOWER your damage.

I was assuming it wouldn't take people 20 hours to figure out that dexterity wasn't contributing to damage.
I wonder how many people will really benefit from this "fix" versus how many will actually have a worse outcome.

My character (dagger in offhand) before the dex/dagger fix:

After the dex/dagger fix

Yes, I do less dagger damage with the "fix".
EDIT: While my build is a higher strength one, even if I dumped all my strength points into dex, the damage on the dagger would not increase from the number shown in the second case here. Because this fix changes from strength damage to an AVERAGE of str/dex. The flaw with average models is that you only get 0.5 damage for each point spent, instead of whole point as they do now. So this "fix" is lackluster at best and IMO a step back from todays situation.
